 Royal Blue Jersey
(To the tune of "????" )

Oh we hate Bill Shankly
And we hate St John
But most of all we hate Big Ron
And we'll hang the Kopites one by one
On the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey

So to hell with Liverpool and Rangers too
We'll throw them all in the Mersey
And we'll fight fight fight
With all our might
For the lads in the Royal Blue Jersey

 Blue and White Submarine
(To the tune of Yellow Submarine)

Number One is Gordon West
Number Two is Tommy Wright
Number Three is Ray Wilson
Number Four is Howard Kendall
Number Five is Brian Labone
Number Six is Colin Harvey
Number Seven is Alex Young
Number Eight is Alan Ball
Number Nine is Joey Royle
Number Ten is Johnny Hurst
Number Eleven is Morrissey
Number Twelve is Sandy Brown ...

We all live in a blue-and-white submarine
A blue-and-white submarine,
A blue-and-white submarine.

We all live in a blue-and-white submarine
A blue-and-white submarine,
A blue-and-white submarine.

 When you're smiling
(an old standard, originally by Dean Martin)

Oh when you're smiling,
When you're smiling,
The whole world smiles with you

And when your laughing,
when you're laughing,
The sun comes shining through.

But when you're crying, you'll bring on the rain
So stop your crying, be happy again

Coz when you're smiling,
When you're smiling,
The whole world smiles with you...

... without yer kecks on!

It's a Long Way to Wembley Stadium
(to the tune of Its a Long Way to Tipperary)

It's a long way to Wembley Stadium
It's a long way to go
It's a long way to Wembley Stadium
For the greatest team I know

Goodbye Upper Parly
Farewell Clayton Square
It's a long long way to Wembley Stadium
But Everton will be there

 Onward Evertonians
(to the tune of Onward Christian Soldiers)

Onward Evertonians
Onward for to see
See the Royal twin towers
And Royal Wem-ber-ley

See the Royal Blue jerseys
As faithful as can be
Forging on to victory
And fighting con-stant-ly

Onward Evertonians,
Don't let your pride be moved:
Remember our song for Wem-ber-ley
Is: We Shall Not Be Moved.

 We Shall Not Be Moved

We shall not, we shall not be moved
We shall not, we shall not be moved
Just like a team that's gonna win the FA Cup
We shall not be moved

 The Ballard of Davie Hickson

As I keep telling everyone I've been supporting Everton now for fifty years (first game: Everton v Chelsea, 5 Feb 1955).  I remember my mate, Harry Owens bringing into the playground at Rathbone a version of The Ballad of Davy Crockett which went;

Born in the grasslands of Ellesmere Port,
Football was his favourite sport,
Signed on for Everton at seventeen
And he's the best since the great Dixie Dean,
Davie, Davie Hickson,
King of Goodison Park.

Apart from the factual inaccuracy, Dave Hickson was born in Salford, but moved to Ellesmere Port as a three year old, it's rather a good song.  I wonder if any other older Evertonians, remember this.  Or was it just a product of Harry and his dad's private imagination ? — Rick Tarleton
