According to Sky TV, Everton now hold the Premier League record for going two games without a shot on target (versus Stoke and Arsenal).
I found this hard to believe but, after watching both games, I think they may be right as we had shots but none of them were on target!
Also, we have played 16 times at Arsenal since the Premier League was formed and lost every time, and Saha said we are going for Europe! Ha, ha. Had to have a laugh at the last one.

Regarding our record at Arsenal since the inception of the Premier League, I believe we won at Highbury when Kanchelskis scored the winner 15 years ago.
2 Posted 14/12/2011 at 06:54:38
How anyone can defend this - by claiming that Moyes at least sets the team out to not lose by greater margins (7-0, 6-1 vs The Arse, anyone?) is simply beyond me.
3 Posted 14/12/2011 at 07:04:16
The last two games had nothing of merit and were shameful displays of mediocrity

As for the 6-1 (you're going to concede goals if your star centre half can't be arsed) and the 7-0 (didn't we finish 4th that season?), freak results happen - 2 have happened to Man Utd this season alone.

Out only form of attack is to fanny about with short passes in the middle of the park, then play the ball out wide, then lump a high ball into the box.
From that point the sole centre forward is expected to a) head the ball into the net (but it never happens) or b) "knock-down" for the supporting attacker. Except that there is never any supporting attacker or indeed supporting midfielder, they're are normally 20 yards behind play.
How about playing a few crosses into the box hard and low. Or better still, strying to go through the middle, on the ground?
Mind you, Kenwright has sold all our players who could achieve that.
10 Posted 14/12/2011 at 09:43:51
I was there in the lower Gwlady and watched it with my own eyes, so it's a bullshit stat that is in fact an untrue one.
Also the bullshit stat of losing everytime at Highbury.
A bullshit post filled with bullshit stats.
11 Posted 14/12/2011 at 10:20:04
Your post is reflective of the malaise that hangs over the club. There is just nothing good to say. However, given that things are bad enough, no need to make matters worse with made up stats.
12 Posted 14/12/2011 at 10:20:48
I love Everton Football club and to see people finding it "Funny" stinks.
Thanks Tony for your view and also for the other facts rather than the "funny" made up bollocks that people should be ashamed of even giving any creadence.

Regarding Saha, have you ever heard of a player who can recover from a thigh strain in less than a week? He either has miraculous healing gift, or he is throwing one in for games he doesn't fancy. I think the latter is true.
Is he also having a laugh when he says our lack of spending power is hindering us? Cheeky twat, maybe we would be better off if we werent paying him stupid wages every week! Would get shut on a free in Jan for him, he's useless, and at least he would free up a wage.
All that ability as well, but he just doesn't have it upstairs to go with it!!
21 Posted 14/12/2011 at 11:29:55
22 Posted 14/12/2011 at 11:45:25
Bit harsh having a go at Saha for his wages. The same Saha who offered to play for free when he originally signed for us.
Oh and the original post was talking about games at Arsenal, not Goodison, so the AJ comment doesn't apply.
23 Posted 14/12/2011 at 12:03:46
At the recent ESCLA do in London with Mick Rathbone, someone asked him if Saha was really injured every time he missed games.
Mick stated that every time he pulled out of a game, the scans backed it up that he had an injury e.g. a torn muscle or whatever. He appears to be prone to it unfortunately. Let's face it, if he had a good injury record we wouldn't have got him on a free.
He might be past his best, but what you are saying about his injuries 'being in his head' is factually incorrect. He puts a lot of his injury problems down to the treatments he received at Man U apparently ? Owen Hargreaves said similar things recently.

Most obviously both of those spent money during the summer, in Blackburn's case well over 10mil plus loans. We only sold.
With respect to league position.. Bolton have 9 points and Blackburn 10! we have been very poor, but hardly in the same bracket are we?
And Moyes is under less pressure than anyone in the league is he?
Idiotic anit-Moyes rant. At least criticise him fairly, not with statements that are completely out of touch with reality.
We are 12th. It's shit, but it's hardly the end of the world. And as worrying as it may be, our team isnt a great deal better than 12th.
26 Posted 14/12/2011 at 12:57:33
Blackburn should have beaten us early in the season.
We have higher expectations from our squad of internationals.
He give Yakubu away to Blackburn, how's he getting on there? Kean (fucking Kean) knows how to feed him!
League position is irrelevant to me, I have watched each match this season and even when we have won we have been shite.
Constant bad team selections, formations and substitutions.
The signing of James McFadden.
27 Posted 14/12/2011 at 13:07:04
I can categorically state with all honesty that Fellaini put a header on target.
Who are you going to believe? A person who watched the replay of the game or a fan who was actually right behind the goal in the Gwladys Street and saw it live?
Don't bother answering, I know which you would believe because it's another lie against Moyes/Everton.
Blackburn didn't beat us so get on with it.
Where are Blackburn in the league?, he can feed the Yak all he wants but will probably still get relegated.
League position is certainly not irrelevant. Have you also watched us this season play better than the other side and lose? We battered Stoke but like with QPR, they had one shot on target and scored.
Same with Villa, they didn't deserve the point.
With you on the Faddy point though.
28 Posted 14/12/2011 at 13:03:28
Did Baz say why he left the club by the way? And did he do a slide show of Louis scans? Would have been interesting.
29 Posted 14/12/2011 at 13:19:44
30 Posted 14/12/2011 at 13:28:06
There were no slide shows or anything like that. It was in a room above a pub, and he basically just told some stories and answered some questions. Everyone was having a pint, and then everyone went downstairs and had a few more pints. He was a really nice fella, very normal really.
He said that the job had changed. Players now are flying back to Spain or whatever for treatment, or they might not agree with the rehab programs he would devise. The job was becoming less hands-on, and he was spending his time speaking to a guy in Denmark about Tommy Grav's knee, or a guy in Spain about Arteta, and it wasn't as hands on as what he had always known.
He's now a physio for one of the England youth teams. It's less hours apparently and it sounds like he's counting down the years to retirement. He had a lot of good stories to tell about the Yak, Big Dunc, Rooney and Tommy Grav. I haven't got his book but it sounds like a good read...

A couple of seasons ago when he hadn't signed his contract I feared a mass exodus of the likes of Arteta Lescott etc if Moyes walked away. Well Moyes has stayed and those players have now gone. So the deficiencies we have always seen in our mangers abilities are costing us dear. He seems spent and has no heart for it anymore other than to achieve the one thing that has been demanded of him since day one - avoiding relegation.
Change is painful, but always worth it for a change for good.
33 Posted 14/12/2011 at 13:30:51
I would like to see him gone as soon as possible as I believe he is tired and out of ideas.
However I also think the stats (like most SKY/PL stats) are complete shite and tell us fuck all.
Let's take 'completed passes' for example (or 'pass completion ratio' or whatever pretend scientific bollocks they call it now).
I could stand in midfield and each time the ball comes to me, take no responsibility and tap it to the nearest man before I'm challenged or closed down.
Technically I'm not doing anything wrong but..I'm not doing anything right either.
Pass completion rate - 87% (or..something).
Or I could get involved in the game.
Hit a few balls to players who have made a run (OR WHO FUCKING WELL SHOULD HAVE!).
Or hit a few long cross-field balls to switch the play.
Sure some of those balls will be cut out, or not quite accurate enough, but I'm trying to create something, I'm 'giving it a go'.
Pass completion rate 63% (or..something).
Does any of THAT get mentioned when the stats appear?
Does it fuck and THAT is why they are bogus, misleading and total skywank.

It costs decent money to go the game so we might as well 'go for it' and get beat than play 'negative' and get beat, at least there will be some excitement and goalmouth action, unlike the last 2 games!

If you have given them away then you are bit of a mug really? You give Kenwrong your money then don't expect anything for it in return.......in fact I have an idea, try and get an application for the business department at Everton, sounds like you would fit right in.

Akin to two old lags pissed up fighting over a granny in the grafton (do I sound a bit like Eugene Ruane there? - what do you think Eugene?)
Arguing the toss over just how mediocre we are. Waste of time.
Although, this is someone who once bought the DVD - The Magnificent 7th!. That was obviously the start of BK's masterplan to drive expectations downwards.
48 Posted 14/12/2011 at 22:37:32
That implies we were the better team, created chances and took them & dominated possession.
When was the last time that happened?
49 Posted 14/12/2011 at 22:42:14
50 Posted 14/12/2011 at 17:06:41
Main point here is to read our low point count and low shots on goal count; we are shit and things will not improve unless Moyes changes things around. Start by using two strikers, for example Vellios and Stracqualursi. In order to get them both some valuable game time and for us to have a chance with all the long balls that are coming from the defence, such as Hibbert and Jagielka.
Dire situation, but things can change... IF Moyes changes them!!!.

52 Posted 15/12/2011 at 10:12:14
"A New Premier League record" - That was the quote and the stat given.
It is wrong, as I have stated i watched Fellaini, pass back/shoot on target and the goalied caught/saved it.
It's just another pathetic attempt to use against Moyes/Everton for the moaners. The BBC stats have us with 4 shots on target so it's all bullshit anyway.
Sky is always right isn't it?
Jimmy, ask anyone who was sat in the Lower Gwladys to confirm whether Fellaini's shit header was on target or not.
53 Posted 15/12/2011 at 12:26:59
54 Posted 15/12/2011 at 15:41:17
There are plenty of valid stats to use against Moyes, this is not one of them.
55 Posted 15/12/2011 at 17:29:36
We always create chances when he is not in the team so if he is in the team surely we create loads?
Moyes doesn't waste £15m on a player does he.....Does he?
56 Posted 15/12/2011 at 17:34:55
57 Posted 15/12/2011 at 17:39:56
Keep it up Blues!!!
58 Posted 15/12/2011 at 17:54:41
Look at Castillo, he scored from a thundering 25 yard shot in his second game for the club only to be promptly dropped by Moyes.
Fellaini learned quickly and he has never had a shot on target from outside the box.
59 Posted 15/12/2011 at 20:30:53
To me the appropriate headline should be:
'Media organisation renowned for making up shit in making up shit shocker!'
60 Posted 15/12/2011 at 21:04:12
I know he's not everyone's favourite dancing mincer... But here's Robbie Savage's take on us at the moment, Embarrassing is the word that stuck out for me.
61 Posted 15/12/2011 at 23:08:07
According to the BBC stats for our last 2 games we had 11 attempts on goal against Stoke, 4 on target and 7 off and 7 against Arsenal 6 off and 1 on.
