Cahill could be fit for derby clash

Australian still recovering from bruised shin
David Moyes could be able to call on Tim Cahill for this weekend's Merseyside derby but the Australian remains a doubt because of severe bruising to his shin.

Cahill suffered the injury in a tackle on Vincent Kompany in which the Belgian defender's foot came down on his leg as the Everton forward slid in, an incident that earned him a yellow card and drew sharp criticism of referee Howard Webb from Moyes.

The Blues boss was adamant that Kompany deliberately stamped on Cahill but he will be relieved that the player who has led the line for him in the last three games will be ready for what is always a physical affair between Liverpool's rival clubs.
