Yak and Yobo may be staying...

30/08/2011 |   Comments () :  Add your Comments
Yakubu and Joseph Yobo may not have played their last games for Everton just yet, with the latter's move to Fenerbahçe looking a remote possibility after the Turks were turfed out of the Champions League amid match-fixing allegations, and the former reportedly turning down a move to Blackburn Rovers. If they do stay, David Moyes says he will welcome them both back into the squad.

"Once the deadline goes, I'll look at where we are,” Moyes told the Daily Post. “Both players, when they were away, made it clear that they didn't want to come back and play, but they are back at the moment. I have spoken to both the boys, they are fine, they are working well, they are getting on with things. If they are still here after the deadline they will come back into the fold."

There is continued speculation Leicester, who had a Ł2m offer for Beckford rejected earlier this month, may yet make a move for Yakubu.

Yobo had been on the brink of a Ł3m switch to Fenerbahce but without Champions League, the Turkish club may have put spending on hold.
