The Rumour Mill, Season 2011-12

Rather Rum Rodallega Rumour

26/01/2012 | Comments (11)
According to "Footy Bunkum... ", sorry, that should be "Bunker" — David Moyes is supposedly ready to firm up his interest in Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega in an attempt to boost his strike force before the transfer window closes.

Reports indicate that Moyes is preparing an offer for Rodallega who has already stated his intention to leave the DW Stadium in the summer. The Toffees chief is apparently confident he can persuade the 26-year-old to make the switch to Merseyside this month rather than wait until the summer.

Doyle, Rodallega, Hoilett or Jelavic. Who would you rather?

I bet we get none of them but end up getting a totally unexpected striker from somewhere.

Is there another protest nearby? It's uncanny isn't it?

Jelavic now 50/50 according to reports in Scotland - the word smokescreen comes into effect - Billy bullshit keeping everyone on their toes only to say we ran out of time or that the Man City game came at just the wrong time etc etc - i reckon one more on loan and possibly a FREE at best - Wed morning i will be back on here apologising egg on face - I think not!!

Just like the Alan Smith bid and the concrete offer for Jelavic (Bill dropping off a bag of cement and a bag of stones at Ibrox).
We haven't got a pot to piss in as usual.

I would go for a Hoilett or a Zaha...somebody that we can develop, with some pace and trickery.

A striker is not particularly a fundamental for me, but at least an offensive player that will provide an attacking outlet with pace.

If we go for a striker, I'd go for Rodallega I think....cheaper and less risk in my view.

Kevin Davies for £1m from Bolton.. £5m Jelavic..

Rodallega is out of contract in the summer and would be available for a cut price fee. I like him, and he would add pace/goal threat in an area that is really poor at our place.

Would rather see him and another pacy striker, than all the money going on Jelavic.

If Wigan drop from the league we should also look at Moses for pace even though Moyes said no whilst he was at Palace

Rodallega going to QPR if they can sort the deal out quickly, so is Cisse

Totally agree Rob, only problem will be the lads salary and will he decide to wait until th summer for a huge signing on fee and wages. Out of the four strikers mentioned I would prefer him. I too don't think we will get anyone of note, another Bill smokescreen.

QPR have done some fine business. Onouha and Cisse are quality. Cisse will score for fun and has pace to burn. 4m is a bargain!

Rodallega is class and would be great business. Moses too I agree has bags of pace and potential. Shame Moyes is still chasing Jelavic. We need PACE! We probably have the slowest team in the league!
