FSF survey on policing

, 2 July, 6comments  |  Jump to most recent
The Football Supporters' Federation are conducting a survey regarding the policing of top flight football and would like your help.

Amanda Jacks of the FSF told ToffeeWeb.com: "Supporter issues around policing and stewarding fill our mailbag perhaps more than any others.

"This survey will help the FSF better understand the views of supporters of Premier League and Championship clubs in relation to the policing and stewarding they experience.

"The outcomes of these surveys will assist the FSF's work in improving relationships between fans and those responsible for matchday decisions and safety. They will also help us in deciding where best to focus our efforts next season. "

The 40-question survey, which is entirely anonymous, may be found here:

I'm sure the Taylor report has looked into this already after Hillsborough? No way any police force would chance any changes to match-day policing. I'm sure the clubs pay for it anyway? Mark Lawrenson even mentioned the Heysel game in his commentary on the BBC last night before realising his error, and trailing off...

Good that a survey has plenty of spaces for opinions and anecdotes. Have supplied a few tales about the bunch of hyped up bully boys in the North East who've policed Everton games in the past.

With you on that one, Kevin. The police at Sunderland especially are scum.

Wolves police were dicks. 'You'll have to give up your season ticket, and you'll not watch another game at Goodison for 3 years'- Made me sit in the back of a van, miss my train and then did fuck all in the end (thank God)!

All because we went ASDA after the game for a crate for the train and weren't too happy at throwing 12 cans of Strongbow away. Pricks!

Got to say, that questionnaire was very poor.

Talking of the Police at Wolves, I have to disagree... We went there back in the 80s with our super team... and while outside the Everton we were attacked by a gang of woolly backs from the side, even though there were Police there, they ran at us, The Police didn't have a clue what was going on, but some of our away crew knew it was coming and one or two of them actually got to each other and clashed.

Here's the funny bit: like I said, they were woollies, and had hats and scarfs on. One of the biggest fellers I have ever seen steps forward from the Everton side and pulls the hat down over the Wolves supporters eyes and lamped him right on the nose! He wobbled all over the place... and then fell on his arse! Us and The Police couldn't stop laughing and we all got a fucking Magic Buzz of it!

Then they told us to go on our way and get into the ground... No Arrest either side. A bit of good old fashioned policing if you ask me. Well done, Wolves Constabulary!
