Everton's season opener against Manchester United has been pushed back to Monday 20 August for live coverage on Sky.

The rest of the matches shifted for broadcast in the UK on live TV by Sky Sports or ESPN have been announced through November, and include four other Everton games on Sky:

Mon 17 Sep: Everton v Newcastle (8pm)
Sat 22 Sep: Swansea v Everton (12.45pm)
Sun 21 Oct: QPR v Everton (4pm)
Sat 27 Oct: Everton v Liverpool (12.45pm)

The Blues are not slated to be on live in the UK at all in November and are not featured in any of ESPN's live games in the first four months of the season.

I see it different Tony. A night match at Goodison Park under the floodlights... First game, full house, it will be rocking. Top of the league by 10 o'clock Monday night.

I love night games at Goodison.
Tony J, do like I do, I always seem to get a bit of a bug around dinner time and need to go "home" or, doctors appointment for about 3PM, no point in going back to work, then get right on it before the game.

I'm on holiday for this one... no doubt I'll be watching it in some bar in Sharm el Sheik with a load of fucking idiotic plastic southern so-called Man Utd fans. I can't wait to see their gobs when the iceman delivers AGAIN!!!!

Way better than a noon kick-off — I hate those games. Goodison is like a morgue when we have an early start.

We always seem to somehow put on a better performance if it's a night game.

Or maybe I am too pissed to notice!

Its proper ruined my day when I found out the news. I (and assume most of us) would expect the game to be rearranged for TV but to a Saturday lunchtime or Sunday lunchtime at worst (as the police advise Merseyside/Manchester matches to kick off midday). It seems forever and a day since the last Saturday home game (end of April against Fulham). And now the next Saturday home game is Southampton at the end of September as even the 2nd home game agaisnt Newcastle has been moved to a Monday.

I wouldn't mind a Monday night in the pub for an away game but home games and especially the first two???.....well it just takes away the Saturday routine — lie in, pub after lunch, bets on, get to my seat by 2:55pm then a few pubs after the game — can't do that on a Monday night with getting home and work the next day. Also I think these live TVgames will have the '5 thousand affect' as in 5k who would've been going to the game will take the cheaper more comfortable option and watch at home.

I hate the simple fact that we are not playing on the first day of the season!

Oh well... who cares about the kick-off time? My only gripe is the wife moaning about my nine-year-old son getting in about 11 o'clock... stupid woman, it's school holidays so I can smuggle him in The Spellow after the game for a pint... LOL.

I agree with you Keith. The season opening and we are uninvolved because of the crap that is Sky tv.
I hate the footy on tv.

I DETEST SKY,.... I work alternate weekends, but was overjoyed to find out home to Man Utd first game and I am off; now I have to do all kinds of swaps etc to get to the game (and the Newcastle game).

Can't they leave the first game alone so we can go when footy is meant to be played... ON A SATURDAY!!?!?!

Paul, I agree. ALL games on the first and last weekend should start and finish at the same time. But it's what happens when the Prem blazers sold out to Murdoch's shysters.

I'm with Jamie Barlow on this one. Second biggest home game under the lights against United first up, Fans having had weekend to get stirred up. Place will be rocking. For me it gives us a much better chance of doing them than 3pm on Saturday.

If I launched into what I think about Sky I would wear out the c,f,k and u buttons on my keyboard so restraint is called for.

One thing that really gets me is that the crowd - that's us - is a major part of the spectacle of the game, its entertainment value if you like. And we pay, a lot, to be there. Some have to make complex, and expensive, arrangements for travel etc well in advance. And then we are fucked about (see what I mean) by those fu.... . You get my drift?

We at least have an extra 2 days to sign people before our big KO. (Not much I know, gotta grab onto something and try to lift the gloom..)

Am not a big fan of Monday night games full stop - it just doesnt feel 'right'. Anyway, we know now..
