Senegal through to the quarterfinals

Magaye Gueye's Senegal reached the last eight of the men's Olympic Football competition on Wednesday evening, partly thanks to Great Britain defeating Uruguay.

The Everton winger played the first half for the African nation in their 1-1 draw against United Arab Emirates.

The result did not matter in the end, however, as Great Britain won by a single goal at the Millennium Stadium, in a game that Uruguay needed to win in order to qualify.
