With less than a quarter of the season left to play, they’ve run through the rest of the Premier League season's results to predict what will happen in the Premier League. At least one of the current top four will end the season with very little to show for their efforts, while a 'surprise' team in Blue is predicted to snatch 4th place!

My bet is that Spurs have peaked and will fall away. I reckon 5th will be between us and the RS. Top Four will be the usual suspects!

Sorry, Doddy, it will be SIXTH spot between RS and Everton. Top Five will be as last season!

I think we will finish either 6th or 7th – just as I did before the season started.

Only the great start we had had me thinking that maybe we could go on to challenge higher up the table – that soon evaporated though!

I think we are about where we belong to be with our squad, that is why I would rather we took the cup competitions more seriously as our main hope of trophies.

Is 7th classed as overachieving?

Would be delighted but can't see it myself.

This would mean that we beat Tottenham, draw at the Arse and the Shite and lose just one game in the run in at Stamford Bridge.

Roy of the Rovers stuff.

If you are part of the MIB, seventhish is over-achieving.

If you favour the MOB, it's fecking useless. Just ask Marshy!

I think we'll finish 6th. The RSare just too schizo this season. Arsenal will end up 4th just ahead of Spurs.

I'd say Paul 7th this year is underachieving. The points we have thrown away this season due to poor performances or negative tactics would have us comfortably in the top 4 and at Wembley 90 minutes away from the final. When it gets to the big occasion, Moyes either chokes or BK fails to deliver in the transfer window.

BK and Moyes Out.

Paul. How about punching above our weight?

Um, we're 7 points off 3rd with 27 points up for grabs. We're like the clubs ahead of us up to Chelsea. The run-in is a hard row to hoe.

And no one is explaining to me why we'll have it tough against Arsenal, Spurs, and the RS, but they won't have it tough against Everton. Not following that.

[And for God's sake, please don't answer "because we never do . . .Look at our record recently . . . etc]. The games are in front of us. We're as good as they are. We can win just as they might.

27 points up for grabs, 7 points off 3rd place? 3rd thru 6th place teams have to worry. Not just the team currently in 6th.

Some of you are pretty fucking negative in your outlook. 3rd place is up for grabs.

Ross, Brian,

We are continuously told plucky little Everton are punching above our weight, over-achieving etc etc if we finish in the top 7.

I personally think it is a load of bollocks but there you go.

Ross Edwards

But this season, Paul, the games we have thrown away, you just think about what could have been don't you?

We shouldn't believe the overachieving propaganda anymore. We have a strong team which should walk into the Top 6 every year, and if we would have won against Reading, Villa, Norwich etc and not rolled over v Wigan Champions League would be ours.

The two groups holding us back: The Board and Moyes.

If you also look at the League this season, Take Bale out of the Tottenham team Spurs would be 9th, and if you took Ratboy out of the RS team, Liverpool would be relegation fodder and if you took RVP out, Man U would be 2nd or 3rd. We haven't taken our opportunities this season and we are sadly going to pay the price.

Arsenal for fourth place, no problem. They have no-one half-decent to play in their last nine games, except Man Utd at home at the back end of April, but by then the league will be over.

Peter (436) - Goodness!! We need more like you.

Myself, I thought 4th was fair and 3rd right there to be had. You declaring Arsenal for 4th? Bold Peter, bolder than me, anyway.

Everton finishes 3rd, then. All for it.

If Moyes can pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and get that 3/4th spot then I will say he needs to stay and build a team to challenge in the CL. He needs to address winning games at Anfield and the Emirates as well as Stamford Bridge.

When you look at how this season has panned put, we have underachieved. We should be several points better off and a lot more confident than we are.

For me, what is rubbing salt in the wound is that we could be back to square one at the start of next season. We will either have a new manager who will want to to impose his own style or still have a manger who won't change his. We may also lose what is a very settled squad over the summer transfer window which won't help things either.

Arsenal do have a decent run in while I think Spurs will do enough to stay ahead of us. I don't think we have a hope of catching Chelsea as I think they can smell blood as far as City are concerned.

Ross, where would we be without Fellaini?
Peter Bradshaw
26 Posted 30/03/2013 at 00:28:27
We will finish 7th or 8th, we will get a point against Stoke in a very angry game, we will lose at Arsenal, Spurs and the RS as Moyes will shit himself as normal we will get a point against Sunderland and beat QPR, West Ham and Fulham and finally lose against Chelsea.

That's 11 points I can see, wont get us 4th etc.

In the close season Moyes will sign a new contract as no one else makes a move for him, we will sell Fellaini and Barkley and bring in three players who can play in any position and are fantastic at tracking back for corners.

Captain Pip will leave and take up coaching at a league two club and Jags will be made club captain.

We will not move away from the template we have now until we have a new board and a new manager.

Sorry to be a bit negative but its because I have been watching 11 years of tripe with the odd bright point here and there, oh and a very empty trophy cabinet.

I'd just love it if we finished in the top 4! As I'm sure everyone else will be. We all have our opinions and mine is it will go down to the last game of the season, which is away to Chelsea.

I'm actually pleased that we play Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea – we usually raise our efforts for the top teams, like last weekend. We'd have fourth pretty much wrapped up by now if we'd taken the games we were expected to (Villa H, Norwich A, Norwich H, Reading A, etc) – very frustrating, but I guess thats what makes the game interesting.

If people spent less time worried about "over-achieving" and "under-achieving" and just fucking focused on getting the job done in the 90 minutes in front of them, we'd be in first or second place probably.

Other clubs may have more players, more money, but it comes down to 90 minutes, 11 v 11, we've shown if we're focused and we want it more than the other team, we'll beat them, whether its Man Utd or Man City. We've also shown on many occasions this season that, if we go out with a half-arsed attitude, we'll get beat by teams like Norwich, Leeds, Wigan who have worse players and far less money.

I suspect we'll finish in 6th or 7th and behind the RS because quite frankly I don't believe the manager has the bottle and nerve to really go for it and get the team sufficiently motivated.

Update on this. So far the writer has the result and margin of victory for Everton and Spurs and predicted 3 instead of 4 for Arsenal. He got Chelsea wrong - but apparently they get away from the pack anyway.

When do we start believing?

Richard O'Shea

Yeah the writer's predictions for weekend just gone is scaringly very close. I did a prediction myself with Everton finishing 6th on 65 points got a feeling Liverpool will beat us to finish our top 4 chances and they enjoy doing that how times have changed used to be Everton beating Liverpool to stop them winning things.
