Wolves U21 0 - 2 Everton U21
Everton's second string kicked off the new season in style with a 2-0 victory at Wolves thanks to a goal by Hallam Hope and a superb free kick from Conor Grant.

Hope pounced on a loose ball to strike in between two disallowed goals for the hosts.

And Grant hit the crucial second when he executed a well-worked free kick with John Lundstram, perfectly placing the ball past Flatt from 25 yards out.

Returning in goal following a long-term injury, Mateusz Taudul had a fine game to preserve the clean sheet.

Goalscorers: Hope 60', Grant 76'
Everton U21s: Taudul; Kenny, Touray, Junior (80' Ledson), Browning; Pennington, Kennedy, Grant; Hope (80 Duffus), Lundstram, Long.
