Best is yet to come from Mirallas

Roberto Martinez says that he is pleased with the way Kevin Mirallas has adapted to the new role has been asked to fulfil this season and says that there is more to come from the Belgian forward.

Mirallas made an unusually subdued start to the new season but has started to become a more influential component of Everton's attack recently, scoring his first goal of the season and providing the assist for Steven Pienaar's winner against Hull last weekend.

“Kevin started the season really well in terms of me asking something a little bit different from him," Martinez says, 'and physically he had to adapt to reach those levels.”

“He is a player who is capable of bringing that little bit of magic to unlock a defence, to make that assist that can win you the game. He's been so influential so far but still has another level to get to.”

Mirallas has been increasingly involved at international level as well, something that his club manager feels can only benefit his game.

“I'm really pleased with what he's done for Belgium too," Martinez continued, "because that's probably the most competitive squad you can have.

“Kevin is developing and getting real admiration within the Belgian camp and is already very important to Everton.

“But his best is still to come in the years ahead, whatever he is doing for us now.”
