Koné ruled out with injury

Arouna Koné was sidelined for yesterday's win at Villa Park because of a knock he picked up against Hull City the week before, Roberto Martinez has confirmed.

"It was during the last game against Hull City," the Spaniard told evertonfc.com. "He received the ball and then got a strong challenge on his knee.

"We're hoping that it's not going to be too much of a serious problem, but he's going to miss the best part of four days."

Koné's stop-start time at Everton so far means that he has yet to start a Premier League game for the Blues and his substitute's appearance last weekend was only his sixth competitive appearance since his summer move from Wigan Athletic.
