Long has come through Everton's ranks as a goalscorer for the U18 and U21 sides, represented England in last summer's U20 World Cup, and now has the chance to get first-team experience in the lower leagues. He will be ineligible for the Dons' FA Cup replay against Wigan Athletic but has the potential to be involved in seven league games during the initial loan period.
