No clarity is likely until after the World Cup

Lukaku is hoping to earn a starting role at Stamford Bridge
With his season-long loan at Everton now over, Romelu Lukaku is once again has making clear his desire to play for Chelsea as speculation continues to swirl regarding his future.

He still has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and knows he will have to wait until after the World Cup to resolve his future under Jose Mourinho.

Though he'd have liked to have his future resolved before the World Cup, the 21 year-old has restated his hopes that he will get the chance to prove himself with Chelsea after successive seasons on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

"It would be nice to get clarity beforehand, but that will not happen, so I'm completely focused on the World Cup," Lukaku told Het Nieuwsblad in his native Belgium.

"You know, I still have a two-year contract at the biggest club in England, because that's Chelsea. So I still hope to play there. Chelsea have a good coach."

Should Mourinho decide to cash in on the Belgian international, Lukaku would have no shortage of suitors, particularly if he keeps scoring goals at the rate he currently is on the world stage. He has found the net six times in his last five internationals, following up his hat-trick against Luxembourg with a superb 20-yard goal in Belgium's 2-0 win away to Sweden on Sunday.

Roberto Martinez has expressed his desire to keep Lukaku at Everton on a permanent basis on a number of occasions but knows that the Blues are being priced out of a move for the striker if his current form continues. Martinez explained at the end of the Premier League season that as much as he would love to sign Lukaku, he and the club were too close to him to wish a poor World Cup on him.

In the meanwhile, the media will continue to speculate on his future; mooted interest from Borussia Dortmund is likely over after the Bundesliga side signed Ciro Immobile but a swap deal with Atletico Madrid for Diego Costa remains the press' favoured angle while Wolfsburg have expressed an interest in him.
