A bit early for a season review... although some think it's all over. Shez Khan writes his assessment of the Everton manager.

Not the most objective piece. I don't understand why we must judge a manager after 2 seasons, for instance. For me, it should be a minimum 3 years, unless results become so bad that a change is inevitable to avoid relegation, or something like that. But that's just my take on it...

I think the writer has jumped the gun a bit. Last season was great. This season has been a bit crap. But I think we need evolution, rather than revolution. Martinez may be the man to do that. We have to give him a 3rd season minimum.

Martinez is learning, just like we all are. I am hoping that he realises that pre-season wasn't good enough last time round, that Alcaraz isn't good enough and won't be given a new contract. That we need better players than Cleverley etc. I'm hoping that we get a pair of wingers in to balance out the midfield (as opposed to having 3 number 10s in the same team).

I think we have the makings of a good team. We maybe need to add a pair of wingers and a keeper. Maybe also a centre half if Alcaraz and Distin go...

I'm hoping that Martinez now realises he was trying to be too clever at times to cater for the Europa League. We'll find out over the summer and at the start of next season if this is the case.
