updated Everton's friendly with Heart of Midlothian has been moved back 24 hours to 26th July.

Hearts developed a scheduling conflict due to Hibernian's involvement in the Petrofac Training Cup which necessitated the friendly with the Blues being moved on police advice.

Kick off remains the same at 3pm.

Couldn’t they have done their homework on this and sorted a more sufficient date!!?

Never fancied this one anyway. Meeting a side who are much fitter can often cause youngsters and new people to over-stretch things in a bid to impress...

Bizarre that the club arranges a game knowing there to be a question mark over the date, yet doesn’t also have an alternative date arranged.

I’d have thought that Hearts made any cock-up that was made.

Anyway, it’s been moved to the Sunday now.

Ross - when you finish your college course perhaps you could apply for the job then all Evertonians can relax safe in the knowledge that the pre-season will be in good hands. As Jamie notes, the game has been put back 24 hours to Sunday 26 July.

The draw for the Hibernian v Rangers cup game was only made last week. The friendly with Hearts has probably been pencilled in for a least a few weeks before either announcement. No one could have predicted Hibs would have drawn Rangers at home.

It is a good move because a mix of Hibs, Hearts and Rangers fans (and us) on the same afternoon in a small city like Edinburgh would not be a good idea as they all hate each other with a passion.
