More Euro2016 qualifying action

Muhamed Besic was sent off for Bosnia in their game against Andorra this evening.

The midfielder was dismissed for appearing to throw grass or gum in the direction of an opponent following a foul.

Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas were unused substitutes as Belgium beat Cyprus to take another step closer to next year's Euro2016 Finals.

No Everton stars were in action for Wales who, despite having Gareth Bale, failed to confirm their qualification for Euro2106 in a drama-filled 0-0 draw against a stubborn Israel side at the Cardiff City Stadium.

On the subject of welsh Evertonians, I am actually English but grew up in North Wales and an earlier comment from Bryn got me thinking...

On a typical matchday at Goodison, I would estimate at least 5,000, probably more, make the journey from all along the coast, so maybe the collective negativity of a nation rightly frustrated has a knock-on effect at our home games??

I'm not saying Ban the Taffs or I'd be calling my own lads out! Besides, they are cracking singers!!!

Brian, I'm made up Wales are doing so well. The last great Welsh side I remember had the likes of Yorath, Phillips, Flynn, Thomas etc... In it. Come on Wales.

Stephen: Had the Immaculate Kevin Sheedy (born in St Asaph?) opted to play for Wales, I’d have had him in that midfield of yours!

Agree, it’s a great back 5 (Dai Davies sub goalie?) Wales will qualify, I’m sure; best of luck to them. They don’t just rely on Gareth Bale, the defense looks solid, and there’s real talent with Ramsey in midfield.

Yes, the scouse accent goes well into N Wales yet stops abruptly at the Lancashire edges of the City. Of course, it's probably a mix of Irish, Welsh and English.

Oh dear.... Mo sent off against the European heavyweights that are Andorra.

That would make for an interesting trivia question.... who was the last Everton player red carded whilst on international duty?

I'm thinking it would have been Johnny H. in the 2010 World Cup Final?

We've not had a Welsh international for a few years.

If they are cracking singers Simon, then they obviously haven't been to a game at Goodison for ages, Here's hoping they all return in full voice this Saturday!

So, red card and 3 match ban for throwing chewing gum (although it can be a pain if it gets stuck in your hair!) but no punishment for a scissors tackle that puts Cleverly out for 2 months?

Am I reading that right? Sent off for throwing chewy at someone?

Pathetic... could’ve taken his eye out (sigh).

Last Welsh international at Everton - Simon Davies?
Harold Matthews

Yes Ciaran, refs allowing games to flow are giving an enormous advantage to the heavy mob in the Premier League.

Chelsea flattened by Palace, Brenda's boys mullered by the Hammers, Spurs kicking Everton for 90 minutes, United steamrollered by Swansea and many more.

Only City are holding their own but they are built for the job. We, I'm afraid, are pretty flimsy and all too quiet.

Simon Davies eh? God, I’d almost forgot about him.

For the price we paid, one of the most inept players I’ve seen at Everton.

But was the chewy thrown with intent to kill or hurt the player? I think the FBI might need to be called in on this one.

The guy who squealed on Besic was also sent off.

Made up! Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lakaku were rested staying fresh for the weekend. How many Chelsea players are involved in double headers this week?

I hope that plantpot England manager doesn’t play all our lads again on Tuesday. The job's done now... play the stiffs.

Embarrassing when his team are up 3-0 and he can’t control his temper. This after in the game he was kicking at Hazard from behind for no reason. So much for maturity helping his decision-making. I wonder if actions like these in training are what is keeping him off of the pitch for Everton? On the bright side, at least he won’t be injured in an international game anytime soon.
