Loan duo likely to stay at Doncaster until May

Conor Grant and Felipe Mattioni look to have secured extensions to their respective loan spells at Doncaster that will keep them at Keepmoat Stadium until the summer.

The duo are scheduled to return to Finch Farm this coming week but Donny boss Darren Ferguson told BBC Sheffield says that he is confident that the Yorkshire club have secured them for the remainder of the season.

Grant has become a fixture in the League One club's team since he joined on loan in October but Mattioni has battled a calf injury recently and is now set to return to Merseyside for treatment on a hamstring strain.

Mattioni was geating great reports before his injury. Do we really need another injury-prone player on our books though, even as cover for Coleman?

Mattioni is an exciting attacking right back who we rescued from the scrapheap and is costing us nothing. His wages are so low, Donny can keep him on loan.

His knees have not troubled him for a few years now and these minor soft tissue problems can happen to anyone. This very talented lad has had nothing but bad luck throughout his football career and I wish him well.

As for Grant. A touch of class and probably the cleanest striker of a ball on our books, I hope he's learning to up his workrate.

Think this will be good for Grant. I have a good feeling about him. Playing regularly can only help him develop.
