I think Dele Alli is a cert to win this.

Rom has had a very good season, and 25 goals has proven that, but with Spurs still in contention for the league I cannot see anything else but Alli winning this award.

That's 5th and 6th place sorted then. Wonder what the order of the top 4 will be.

Hard to see past the Tottenham duo and rightly so, but nice to see some recognition for the lads.

Quality list - wish our two lads the best and hope one of them brings home the bacon.

Kane will have that, but to have two is good.

If Alli continues his form, I believe he will beat Kane. Of course I want to see Lukaku and Barkley give it all to have a chance. COYB.

I don't get the Barkley adoration. Sure he's talented, but he's far from being the finished article. If he lifted his head and delivered forward passes sooner, he may be there, but not until.

One reward we won't be getting this season is a European berth via the Fair Play League. As usual, Everton find themselves top of that particular league when it's of no value, except to show how nice we are.

(That information came courtesy of a tweet by Patrick Boyland.)

Vince, I'm glad you posted – I have been trying for a while to remember an example of a made-up name on TW, and you were the one I had in mind! Unless you are indeed the pop star of my youth, in which case 'Respect' as my kids would say.

'Elected' was my favourite.

If it's not one of the Spurs duo I shall eat my own arse!

Vince Furnier = Alice Cooper's real name.

Coincidence, I guess.

Barkley had a pretty good first half to the season! Fed up of the stick he gets off of our supporters! Why don't we back him? Why can't Rom do no wrong???

Ross has created more scoring opportunities than any other player! He puts Rom in time and time again! Let's get behind this kid!

The two defensive midfielders need to provide more cover for him so he can make mistakes! The big clubs want him for a reason!

Good post Joe # 16

We should be celebrating Barkley and not getting on his back with the odd mistake. He's young and has had a very nasty injury, so I'm not surprised he doesn't dive in for 50-50's but that's not why you want him on the field.

Also the Premier League is the most competitive in world football so in an average side (which we are) he is not going to get the same time and space that Alli gets.

Liam, the injury is ancient history, and it's not his disinterest in getting "stuck in" that gets his critics riled. It's his inconsistency and the ongoing problem of poor decision-making and passing errors. His cross-field blunder on Wednesday was nearly fatal, and it wasn't the first such mistake, or the 10th, or the 20th. And he was nearly invisible in the game until the brilliant shot off the bar.

To Joe's point, I do "back him"... but I just don't see the improvement I expect when a player has more than 100 appearances. Too often I've been pleased to see him subbed out in the 80th minute. With a player of his talent, that should never happen.
