Oumar Niasse has been bailed pending further enquiries into an incident that occurred in Manchester in the early hours of yesterday, report The Mirror.

The Senegal striker was arrested after Salford police were called to a property following a report of assault and the 26-year-old was taken into custody.

He was after released on bail until 27th May.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said:

"Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and was taken into police custody for questioning. He has been bailed until 27 May 2016 pending further enquiries.”

Could Martinez have left him here as a kind of payback? Sack me ? Well fucking take that. A kind of land mine of shite for our new coach.

Will he be released if he's found guilty of assault? I know we released Danny Cadamartari, but I seem to remember Steven Pienaar being arrested for a similar incident and no action being taken.

Please Everton learn your lesson from buying Russian league players they are dreadful. McGeady even looked good in that league. Christ, please sack this idiot immediately.

Personally at the beginning I was up for giving him a chance but any player that needs 4 months to get fit is just a joke ! Add to that how woeful he looks on a football field and now this!!

Especially how humiliated the club and fans have been recently, get rid now and make an example he doesn't deserve a well paid career clearly not professional one bit and what's he doing out partying at 1 am Friday when he may be playing the Sunday ???? Bye bye loch Niasse you joke !

Worst £13.5 million pound we will ever spend!

Never fit, not good enough, doesn't look like a footballer and basically if we can get someone from anywhere to pay even half of what we were mad enough to spend on him then I think we have got to take it and just put this aside as a Martinez mistake not an Everton one.

The whole deal smacked of something untoward but I doubt we will ever find out just what.

John (36), allow me to join you in the stocks. I believed my brother-in-law's imprimatur. Oh well, if you're going to get it wrong, do so spectacularly.

Legally, this would almost certainly mean we can get out of the contract and dismiss him summarily if he's ever charged and convicted, which of course he may not be.

Doesn't this smack of a bit of an Andy Van Dan Man?

We spend a bit of money, he comes to England to live in Manc with his bird. Goes out partying a bit too much and cannot get fit. Club try to brush it under the carpet in the hope he sorts himself out soon, but he ends up getting arrested...

There again it might not be that and I'm way off

Best teams in any sport move on from losses fast. Fail quickly.

James Marshall

Pre season? Why? He's been here since February - how long does he need to get fit? Christ, I could be fit enough to play for Everton if you gave me a training program for 3 months.

The bloke isn't up to it, and until we're proved otherwise, I think everyone has every right to call him a lemon. So I will - Oumar Niasse is a lemon. There, I said it.

Dominic Tonge
73 Posted 15/05/2016 at 01:02:44
This is a load of shite, apparently a26 year old male was alleged to have hot a barn door with a banjo, the first officer on scene recognised that the accused was a Mr O. Niasse and realised that this was in now at shape or form even remotely possible.

A Snr Martinez has since been arrested for wasting police time.

He's part of the deal to bring Yarmolenko to Goodison. Kiev cannot give money to a Russian team so told us to do it. We get Yarmolenko for £22m with £13m being the value of Niasse - nothing else makes sense to me. Unless of course EFC talent scounts are just as bad at talent spotting as this lad is at fooball.

If he does come up before a judge he'll need to tell him he has 13.5 million other offences to take into account.

James Marshall
76 Posted 15/05/2016 at 01:08:06
As I said the other day - if Martinez is to be given the quoted £12m pay-off, can't we just give him Niasse and call it quits?
Joseph Walsh
78 Posted 15/05/2016 at 01:40:38

Chris Wilson
80 Posted 15/05/2016 at 02:16:11
I can't recall, did Roberto say that he had seen this guy play? The head scout walked out the door with Roberto, yes? If not, he needs to be packing up the office, and making use of the office computer and paper clips while he can.

This had panic buy written all over it anyway. I think I recall journalists and others in the know saying we paid at least twice his value, and that was before it took 3 months for his wrist to heal up enough where he could run. What a freaking joke!

John Daley #36, to be fair, given this awful signing is probably one of the (many) things that saw RM get the boot, you could make a case that he turned out to be a crowd pleaser. There'll be a campaign to build a statue of him next.

I'm told Player of the Year in Russia is bid for by agents rather than voted on by journos or fellow players.

That may have led to the late escalation in the fee. Pure speculation, of course, but must go down as the all-time biggest con perpetrated on our club.

I'm sure I remember Martinez waxing lyrical about his skills and work rate before he joined us and again at his photo call with that cheeky thumbs up and big smile. Can't blame the lad for smiling. He must have thought all his birthdays had come at once.

The mere fact that he's since been proved an unfit abject useless lump should in itself have been rough to sack Martinez. Let's be honest, he'd just taken £13.5m plus,a similar sum in salary of his employers money and effectively thrown it away. Might as well gave kept Nessie who might have produced a few more goals for us before the end of the season. Would love to know what he really thought of RM.

Niasse looked like a panic buy when other clubs were bringing in decent players from abroad, the window was closing and Martinez knew he had to do something to placate the fans who were already voicing discontent about his management. This guy is simply not even good enough for most league two clubs, with respect to League Two clubs of course. I'd be very surprised if we ever recoup anything like his, original transfer fee, but we need to get shut if for no other reason than to save on his wages. He's getting rich for doing nothing, ffs.

With reference to Jim Bennings post #102, and other similar posts that I have seen relating to other Muslim players, I just wanted to point out that the date of Ramadan is variable. This is because the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 months in a year of 354 or 355 days. Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.

By way of illustration, in 2015 Ramadan began on June 18th, this year it begins on June 7th and next year it begins on May 27th.
Note that these are the dates for Ramadan in the UK.

Source: Link

So it is not correct to assume that the majority of Ramadan always occurs during football's traditional pre-season period of July to mid-August. For example, this year Ramadan runs from June 7th to July 7th, so a slight overlap with the start of pre-season. Next year it runs from May 27th to June 26th, so no overlap at all with the start of pre-season.

Just watched the Scout Nation highlights reel from 2015 (term highlights used lightly, they were obviously so short of material there are a couple of missed shots) for our 3rd most expensive signing. He has a cast on his wrist for most of the clips and they value him at £5million. Looks like we have been mugged.
Frank Thomas
116 Posted 15/05/2016 at 14:34:03
James (76) where has the £12M pay off come from? That would be the entire salary for the next 3 years. If we pay him that much we should keep him on for the remaining 3 years reporting daily to an office somewhere in the training ground. Then Valencia would either pay us compensation or he could resign with 3 months pay.

He would not be the manager just someone behind a window seat.

Daniel #109 Van der Meijde had buckets of skill and ability and in his first half dozen games looked a very good player. He was beset with a lot of personal problems not least his daughter being born with a very serious defect which is still a serious problem to this day and he couldn't cope and alcohol and fitness became a problem.

He could have been a very good player for us and on what I have seen so far cannot be compared to Niasse.

It cost me a lot of money that film one very drunken day Jay, because of how funny it is. Nothing funny about Niasse, though, except he looks like an extra out of mean machine.

Steve @105: my Russian neighbour tells me that if he gets a conviction on any charge, he will not be allowed back into Russia to play football or do anything else. 'We have standards'.... cough, cough .

Has Duncan just started mentoring him?

Reminds me of the whole van der Meyde shananigan. Only ever active on his own time (shakes head)

It is at this stage an alleged assault so be careful what you say. If true however then it should hasten the departure of this guy. He's not good enough, I think we all know that and there'll be theories about how or why we even bought him. When you consider how skint we've been for more years than you care to remember and we waste £13m!

It beggars belief. If Moshiri is the businessman we all hear he is then there's going to be one hell of change within the club both on the playing front and the backroom/business side and not a moment too soon.

I was speaking with Mr Royle on Friday night at a sportsman's dinner. I posted on here Saturday morning that he wouldn't be anywhere near the squad – before the news of his 'misdemeanour' came out.

He wasn't scouted, and I believe all those involved in the transfer no longer appear to be employees. As Niasse is so shit, I'm not divulging earth-shattering confidences here. The rest of our discussion is not for public consumption.

And Joe Royle is an absolute gentleman. Definite Blues legend.

Has anyone heard any further news regards this?

He's been provisionally charged under the Trades Descriptions act.
Allegedly he wrote his occupation as "football player" on the charge sheet.

Shane #104 Yup! Couldn't have put it better. Seems a case of guilt without trial. Might have been handbags at 10 paces or even an attempted set-up. Let's not hang the guy just because some fella thought he was worth Pds13.5 million of Everton's money.

This incident is more an opportunity rather than a problem. If he is convicted of assault, then we have good cause to cancel his contract. Problem solved and £55k per week saved.
