It was this glowing success that raised eyebrows amongst fans and pundits alike when Koeman left his position at Southampton in favour of Everton, a team that finished 11th during the 2015-16 season, 5 places and 16 points below the Saints.

Nice piece.

I for one am looking forward to the Koeman era. He's shown himself to be an astute manager in the Premier League and, as the stats in this article show, has a solid record against the so called "big teams".

Some stats are wrong - or I just don't understand what they mean by them. Koeman did qualify for European Football at Vitesse, for example. The next season they went out of the UEFA cup in the second round against a certain Inter Milan. On away goals. They didn't get a penalty decision - big team bias. They went out without losing a single match in the tournament. For a club like Vitesse, that's actually quite a good result.

Good spot Erik, we've amended it - doing our man a disservice! Thanks for that.

Funnily enough, it is his record of qualifying for Europe that impresses me the most of all his stats.....and it's not just with the bigger teams that he achieved it.
