U23s grab late equaliser against Wolves

Liam Walsh scored a late penalty to salvage a point for Everton U23s at Wolves and keep them top of Premier League Cup Group D.

The Blues were trailing 1-0 to Will Randall's first- half goal heading into the closing stages when Courtney Duffus was fouled by Randall in the Wolves box.

Walsh stepped up to convert from 12 yards and preserve the U23s' lead at the top of the group with two matches remaining in this stage of the competition.

Everton U23s: Hewelt, Kenny, Foulds, Walsh, Browning, Pennington, Broadhead (66' Sambou), Charsley, Dyson (75' Kiersey), Dowell, McAleny (54' C Duffus).
Subs not Used: Griffiths, Feeney.

I suspect Walsh can't be far away from a first team bench or cameo at this stage.

Liam (3) .. Charsley too. I've been fortunate enough to see a Walsh / Charsley / Davies combo on a few occasions, dynamic to say the least ... constant forward motion, good to watch, very good.
