Starting to get the feeling this isn’t gonna be our season.

Wonder what Cyborg's reasoning will be when we get trounced 4-0 in that game...

"Not enough aggression??"

Hmmmmm? That one's wearing thin.

Anyone giving Koeman longer than to the end of this season in the job?

What more could we want?An easy away tie?

This will be a true test of Koeman's tactics and team selection, if you want to win any competition, you have to be prepared to meet any team home or away.

Like Garry has said, it doesn't look too good, but you never know, stranger things have happened in the past.

Come on, Koeman, stand up and be counted.

Draw could have been kinder but Chelsea will not field a full strength team. If Koeman is serious about this competition - and I don't think he is - he will field a strong side against Chelsea and we can get through.

This could be an interesting match vs Chelsea, especially the date. I think the matches are in the week beginning 23rd October.

We play Arsenal on Sunday 22 October
Chelsea due to play Monday 23 October

Chelsea play Saturday 28 October
Everton play Sunday 29 October

Looks like all are scheduled to be shown on TV. So that's helpful if games remain as planned. Plenty of rotation for Chelsea. They also have Champions League the following week.

Look forward to the next logo we see displayed in the build up. I am going for Man City as our next opponents.

There is a (small) chance that Chelsea won’t be too thrilled at having to play us this early in the competition, don’t we think?

Yes, Lewis... a small chance!

Well, we'd likely have met up with them at some stage, might as well knock them out early.

Who did Liverpool get? Oh..

Shame for the younger players that did so well last night.

It will be 7 at the back against Chelsea in the next round.
We wouldn't want Evertonians to have expectations of anything attacking would we Ronald?

Well, there's a decent chance we could beat Chelsea if we adopt the right tactics and put players in their proper positions. But if Brains is still in charge, it'll probably be the usual defensive shite and bad tactics, in which case we won't stand much chance.

Not sure how Holgate did at left-back last night but if Baines is rested at Chelsea next month I can see their reserves would probably be good enough to exploit that.

Against that, I think we have a big enough squad now that, provided we have half a dozen first choice players in the line-up, then should have at least a 50-50 chance. I think at some stage Keane will need a rest though.

Great. So we'll knock out Chelsea next round, then Man Utd after that, which I think will take us to the quarters.

We'll see off Man City fairly easily, at their place naturally, stuff Spurs in the semi before we go on to lose to the mighty Bristol City in the final, having blown a 3-0 half-time lead just to prolong the trophyless agony.

The life of an Everton fan, ey?

Next 🏆 2031!

Koeman should go with the same line-up at Chelsea. The U23 side thumped them 3-0 with Hazard in their side.

We knocked them out of the FA Cup on their patch a few years ago, albeit on penalties.

If the team are up for it and are pretty much at full strength, then it could be a chance to get some real momentum going, especially if we win the next 3 and do okay against Arsenal. Misplaced optimism maybe, who knows? Not sure these days.

Absolute twat of a draw considering who we could have got.

I know we knocked them out of the FA Cup just 18 months ago but that was at home and Rom decided to have one of his rare days against a top side.

If the last round is anything to go by. Chelsea will field an under-strength side (albeit a strong one) so let's go for it.

Too much negativity on TW at present (including me) and we were never a particularly optimistic bunch of chaps to begin with.

Gutted. I thought I was going to be the first to comment on the Prophecy before the game. Rarely if ever I've noticed a mistake like that and now we draw them, haha.

If the squad reacted the way we all have – send the U23s and the rest of us can have a rest.

Once again, we are overlooked for live TV coverage as Sky have chosen Spurs v West Ham and – surprise surprise – Swansea v Man Utd (having selected Man Utd v Burton last round).
