Overview

First view

I was at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to witness another fine victory. Neville played well and made a few good saves but Everton could have scored five - Ferguson hit the post, Parkinson hit the bar, Rideout had a header ruled out for no apparent reason after scoring the winner in the first half, Barry Horne missed an absolute sitter from two yards with almost the last kick of the game. It was quite an impressive performance on the whole though. The defence was solid, Limpar looked lively on the right, Hinchcliffe was very dangerous with his inswinging corners and Rideout and Ferguson were useful up front. Amokachi was dropped and I don't think that he was missed to be honest. He's definitely more effective in a deeper role but I don't know that the midfield is strong enough to cope with this. If we can keep winning games like this, there shouldn't be too many problems in moving up the league.

Second view

Another good performance on sat,tho what the resukt would've been if Wise's overhead had gone in is anyone's guess.

Parkinson is improving with every game and was desperatly unlucky with the head that hit the bar.

Ferguson doesn't get the goals he deserves and was unlucky again,he also collected another booking on sat. His cross-field ball to Ablett was superb.

Whilst Horne should've scored it was good to see him so far forward, has he ever been in the six yard box before!!

The service the front two recieved has improved greayly as well,Limpar had an excellent game, Hinchliffe's crossing is back to what it should be, he put in a lot of good crosses on sat which could've easily produced goals.

Limpar also got booked again, for the second game in a row,so at least he's realised he's got to defend a bit as well.

There was a good quote fron Peter Beagrie in the footie Echo on sat.Walker said that Beagrie was producing nothing last season, that's why he sold him. Beagre's response was why take any notice of a man on the dole.

I think we're only 6pts behind Palace who are in 12th place,i may be wrong on that tho. Sheff weds drawing at Villa helped as well, another couple of good results and we'll be mid table.

By the way Sky are showing the game at Newcastle live on 21st of Dec (Weds night). There's a limit of three home games but not the number of away game that a club can be one live on tv.
