The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs are considering reviving their interest in the Ademola Lookman, who seems to have been squeezed out of the reckoning at Goodison Park.
Lookman joined Everton in £10m deal from Charlton Athletic in January and made a flying start to life at Goodison Park, scoring within minutes of coming on as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Manchester City.
Impressive for England U20s as they went on to lift the World Cup over the summer, Lookman was expected to play a more prominent role in the Blues' team this season but he has made just two starts so far, both against Hadjuk Split in the Europa League.
With rumours suggesting that the young winger is living by himself at Liverpool's Titanic hotel and suffering from homesickness, speculation is now linking him with a return to London with Spurs or, perhaps, Crystal Palace who were credited with interest in him before Everton signed him.

Koeman has handed us a wide-variety of sticks to beat him with. Not playing Lookman isn't one.
What has this kid done to prove he should be getting game time at Everton Football Club? Perhaps, it's because "We're so lacking in width, give the kid a go." Is that causing a clamor in TW to play him?
It cannot be due to his scoring goals for his U-National team. It can't. Drop that team into League 1 and I'd win money betting on them getting the shit kicked out of them, game-in and game-out.
The kid is just not good enough for the Premier League. He's a League 1 player. And looking at his record at Charlton, not that good a one.
"The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs are considering reviving their interest in the Ademola Lookman". Fine by me. He's a year into a 5-year contract. Let's see what Mr. Levy makes of that in negotiating.
My sport was basketball. Played it competitively into my 40s. Always, always: defend as a team, get the ball and attack, attack, attack at pace. We're missing that, on both ends, under present circumstances. Koeman has earned the stick he's getting.
Not playing Lookman shouldn't be one of them. The kid is not a top-league player.

Yes, he's still raw as you'd expect any 19-year-old making the jump from league one would be but every time he's on the pitch, you can see his quality. People want him to play because he happens to possess all the skills we currently lack (pace, athleticism, creativity).
I can forgive Koeman for a lot of things, but if he willfully drives Lookman into the arms of another club... that's something I won't ever get over. He's a huge part of our future.
A league one player at best? Jesus Christ.

Fact 2: The Sun started this rumor... The Sun.

Lookman might not be the answer but he deserves a chance. We're struggling to create and finish the odd chance we do in a game. No doubt spurs see him as a replacement if Eriksen moves on. Maybe once Bolasie returns we ll see 2 wingers.
Koeman's got to win today and away to Brighton or I think that'll be it. I think we should persevere with him personally and give him another transfer window mainly because I don't know who we could realistically bring in.

The much mocked Sterling, despite his floors would walk into our team. I genuinely believe that Lookman has the potential to be better and we have someone with genuine class at our disposal.
I said this about Deulofeu and I will say the same for Lookman... He needs a run of starts forgiving a few errors in the first few games. He will make them and will give the ball away.
But he may also create many more chances than we are currently making and provide some welcome relief to some of the dross served up in recent weeks.

Lookman is a raw talent who needs game time, we are sorely missing pace and width in the team which Ademola brings in spades with plenty of skill to boot.
The lad should be part of the present team and be getting regular minutes if not starts but looks like he's sitting on Ronald's now crowded naughty step along with Mirallas, Barkley and Niasse.
That is piss-poor management to not utilise all the resources at Ronald's disposal.

Didnt think things could get any worse. They appear to be though. Pass the Prosac.

He looked England's best player in the Under-20s – he has performed well for us in the Premier League too. He is a cut above in the Under-23s. I would have loved him to come on when we needed pace at City. He is only young and this rubbish linking him away has no substance – we brought him for the future not as a regularly starter now. He wouldn't get near the Spurs side.
But we could do with his pace now, because we have problems in our squad. I'd rather see him on the pitch than a central midfielder forced out of position. Until Bolasie comes back, I want to see more of him and Vlasic. We have problems with the first 11 and he is a potential solution, either as a sub or starter, that Koeman is ignoring.

If there's truth in the rumour, it's to be hoped he's massively homesick. Otherwise, he's been signed in Koeman's time for a fair old sum, hardly played but been on the bench, suggesting he's good enough to play, and could be on his way out after less than a year at the club with yet again, another higher club interested in a player we can't or won't use. What would that say?
22 Posted 02/10/2017 at 16:52:42
Has he pissed on Ronald's shoes or something?

Just say that was true. This club would have to be living in the 80s to provide that kind of comfort for a kid who cost £10 million.
My word, Anichebe's red boots and Baines getting Eto'o in a headlock is more respected than the subject of games. And my opinion on him is Koeman is right on this one. He's not ready yet and not even close to the level of Deulofeu or certainly Sterling.
Whether homesickness is adding to that I don't know but hes not ready for starting games. Especially with the confidence of this team.

He is living in a B & B on Mount Pleasant. Works well as Granny O'Reilly gives him breakfast and half a glass of Mackeson before bed. He is falling deeply for Siobhan, the granddaughter, and last night asked if she would play Kerplunk with him. She went red and tried to go a bit flirty but she hadn't been out since her 32nd birthday so was out of practice.

Carroll to Everton. No Way! Always injured isn't he, anyway?!
End of story

Sadly we have a team low on confidence with a nervous crowd and a coach struggling to keep his job; a poor atmosphere for any player to find their feet. If Unsworth were to come in I wonder if we might see the best of young Ademola...?
