Hello, I live in France and have been looking at the website of Rennes FC as I was considering going to the friendly. There are some drawbacks though.

The match is at AS Vitré (about 20 miles east of Rennes) due to building work at the normal Rennes stadium. The Vitré ground appears (Google Earth) to be tiny. There seems to be one small covered stand, an open simple bench type stand and the rest is standing round the perimeter of the pitch. I don't think that it is even banked.

The tickets are only on sale in the town of Vitré and at the home stadium. I think my home ground, Prescot Cables, is superior!

I hope this helps to prevent anyone thinking that the ground is remotely like Goodison. All the best.

Definitely not, Dale, sounds like there are less obstructed views!

Knowing Rennes stadium was under renovation and the alternative was basically a field where few fans can go to the game, wouldn’t it have been more sensible to get an alternative match against someone else?

I’m always a bit disappointed we don’t look to go up to Celtic, a good jaunt and still in Britain for the fans at a big stadium where the fans wouldn’t have trouble getting in.

Heard on the radio this morning that the lot across the park beat United 4-1 in front of 101,000 crowd while we managed something similar at a ground that holds 3,200. Roll on Bramley-Moore.
