Stanley Mills 56

Son of famous Manchester City, Leeds United and England defender, Danny Mills, Stanley joined Everton at the age of 14 having previously been at Leeds United.

Mills broke through at Under-18 level in 2020-21, scoring in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Elevated to the Under-23s for the last two games of the season, he marked his debut with a superb goal in a 5-0 win at Southampton. That helped seal a first professional contract with the Blues in July 2021, a 2-year deal.

18-year-old Mills became a regular for the U23s in the 2021-22 season, often playing on the right. He scored a fine goal at Sheffield Utd in the Premier League Cup.

Mills went out to the USA with the senior players in the Summer of 2022 putting in an impressive rookie performance against Arsenal in Baltimore and made his senior debut as a substitute in a League Cup tie at Fleetwood.

After agreeing a new 3-year deal in August 2022, he told Everton TV: “I’m delighted to continue my journey here. It’s been a really positive summer for me and I just want to keep working hard and progressing.

“I wasn’t expecting to go to America so when I was picked to go, I was buzzing! It was a really good experience with the lads. They’ve been great and made me feel really comfortable in the first-team environment. I’m happy with what I did while I was there. I worked hard and am now just looking to push on again.

“It was a dream come true to walk out at Goodison Park with the first team [for the friendly against Kyiv]. I wanted to do that since I was a little kid and the experience was great. All the fans were amazing.

“I want to keep pushing, keep moving forward. I haven’t got a specific goal in mind; I just want to keep training with the first team and see where it goes. I hope I can get on the pitch for a competitive game soon but I’m happy right now just to be in and around the environment.”

Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell said: “This new contract is a reward for Stanley’s encouraging progress at Everton. He took his chance to impress Frank and his staff during the summer and we are looking forward to him continuing to develop and keep pushing to be involved with the first team this season.”
