Patrick Nash joined Everton from Reading's academy, as a 17-year-old in November 2021.
The youngster was born in Aldershot and is named after Northern Irish goalkeeping legend Pat Jennings. He has no qualms about moving north and commented on the friendliness of everyone at the Everton Academy:
“I came up to Everton for a week in August [on trial] and was taken aback by the friendliness of the Club. I'm really pleased to be here now.”
But Nash didn't stay long, after playing in 12 U18 games and being named as a substitute for just one U23 Premier League Cup game. He turned down the offer of a contract extension in July 2022:
“Pat wanted a guarantee of a loan move to a men’s team for the new season, but the club were not able to do this. They didn’t seem to see the value of a loan move as much as we did. They also offered incentives for playing U23 football rather [than] gaining proper experience.”
Patriick would be without a club until October 2022, when he appeared on the roster for Whitely Bay FC who play their games in Division One of the Northern League – 5 tiers below the English Football League.
