Tomorrow will be a long night. Saturday an early start.
They don't deserve it, but they are worth it. The girl I love and can't leave.
I will follow them everywhere. Always have and always will when I get the the chance.
The privilege. I've had to listen to and follow them in some very odd circumstances. Waiting for the Everton result to come in over the radio, and asking the lads what was the score when other things were the priority. They always knew what I needed to know.
Always on your mind.

Willy Gnonto starts for Leeds...
And against the run of play, Salford City take the lead through centre-forward Matt Smith after 34 minutes.

I remember Matt Smith from his days at Oldham, a big tall striker not great with the ball on the floor but not bad at all in the air.
One season he scored two for Oldham in the FA Cup against Liverpool knocking them out of the competition then he was a handful against us in the next round, I think it went to a replay and he scored in one of them games, possibly the two of them, we made hard work of it in both games and I'm not sure if we got through or they did!!

Just don't do a Grimsby tomorrow night Everton. That still scars me.

Watching Gnonto and Summerville as Leeds are currently losing at Salford in the Carabao Cup.
All promise and no end result. Would fit right in at Everton! Certainly not players I'd be desperate to buy.

Former Everton Academy products on show for Salford City:
Luke Garbutt, and now Conor McAleny coming on as sub.

Karl (4) Agreed. Gnonto in particular reminds me of Ademola Lookman; looks lively, has pace but lacks quality and control in the crucial areas.

See Spurs ‘big club my arse' are out in R2.

And add Leeds and their multi million forward line to that …dumped out by Salford.

Not sure I get the need to book the Leeds goalie for stepping off his line.
Isn't it sufficient that the penalty is retaken?

Well Gnonto can stay right where he is after that performance. Missed a relatively easy chance in the first half, and although he put in a couple of half decent crosses, he was certainly nothing to write home about. Kicked a defenders foot before throwing himself to the floor trying to win a penalty, then got all stroppy later on because a decision didn't go Leeds way, and scythed an opponent down, getting himself booked. Scored a decent pen though, but overall…………..No thanks!

Michael, what happens if he moves off his line again before the retaken pen is retaken? Is he sent off and an outfield player goes in goal, because I don't think you can make a substitution during a penalty shootout.

Michael (10), not sure but he might have been booked for protesting about the decision to retake the penalty although he was yards off his line as the Salford player was taking the penalty.

Think you're right, Dave. I don't think moving off your line before a penalty is taken is a bookable offence.

Ah, that makes sense, Rob and Dave. Booked for protesting.
They didn't make that clear on the comms as they asked what would happen if he did it again.
I agree with all your points on Gnonto, Rob. With that miss in the first half he would fit right in!

Danny what does your 1 have to do with this thread? This is stuff we've heard before, many times, but it has nothing to do with this thread.

John (7), Lookman used to frustrate me to watch, flashes of brilliance and then lose possession or miss place a pass.
He turned out alright in the end though, 31 Serie A games last season for Atalanta, 13 goals and 6 assists, fair play to the lad.

I'll be interested to see Chermiti play. Just got a feeling this lad's going to be top notch,

Danny, you won't thank me for this, but your love letter reminds me very much of the kind of thing that 'The Teary One' would come out with. As my kids would say: "that is sooooo cringe"

Danny, I'm not sure what your first post on this thread is actually about. It certainly does not seem to add anything to the question of how we will do against the bottom team in the four leagues. It seems to be more about you.

Agree Kevin (M) and this could be an ideal situation for us to begin to see what he can do. I was impressed with what he added in those twenty-five minutes or so at the weekend. I really hope that he gets a place in the starting eleven.

Kevin @ 18,
He reminds me more of a poor man's version of Jo, unable to keep his feet, no idea where the ball is, and clattering into challenges he's unable to win.
Still it's early days, but you can see why Dyche thought he was one for the future, rather than the here and now. At least the other lad has something about him and might develop into a rival to Dominic if and when Calvert-Lewin returns.
