Can't get more clear and obvious than the 'wrong' player putting it behind but a corner being given by the on-field ref when it really should have been a goal kick. Just seen that in the Wolves v Spurs game, but no attempt by the VAR to intervene and correct the wrong decision by the ref in giving the corner. They didn't score but surely this is equally as egregious as a clearly wrong offside decision? Dennis Stevens 2 Posted 11/11/2023 at 13:53:29 AI will sort it out in the end. At the moment we're suffering with NFI! Michael Kenrick 3 Posted 11/11/2023 at 14:26:14 Absolutely brilliant Wolves goal to level it with Spurs at the death.Exquisite control and finish — the ball never touched the ground. Bill Gall 4 Posted 11/11/2023 at 14:31:35 And Wolves win it Michael Kenrick 5 Posted 11/11/2023 at 14:33:01 And Wolves win it in added time after losing for 88 minutes. Looks like a jammy finish this time, but maybe Lemina knew just what sort of a touch it needed. Almost makes ya fall in love with the Premier League all over again! Most precious sight of all: Son in tears! Brent Stephens 6 Posted 11/11/2023 at 18:52:37 And N'Castle go a goal down. Dale Self 7 Posted 11/11/2023 at 18:55:22 A Doucourésian pass into the box by a rather expensive Newcastle defender Brent Stephens 8 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:04:45 N'Castle 2 down! Tony Everan 9 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:06:19 Barcodes at the checkout Dale Self 10 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:07:53 It really has been a decent weekend thus far. I hope it continues tomorrow. Barry Hesketh 11 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:32:16 Michael @1,I was watching Sunderland v Birmingham earlier today, and Sunderland scored a goal from a corner that shouldn't have been awarded as the ball clearly crossed the goal-line after it bounced out off a Sunderland player. As you say, all these micro-management techniques for offside and apparent hand-balls, yet for the awards of corners no such scrutiny. Paul Ferry 12 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:39:02 Topsy turvy day today! I think today is the day that it is becoming apparent that the promoted three are all going down. How brilliant was Tarkowski today (except for their second!). Jeff Armstrong 13 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:50:05 I hate Newcastle almost as much as I hate the RS, their plastic fans are unbearable, fat fuckers with their bellies out thinking they're hard as fuck, not won anything since1969 or whatever, been relegated about 10 times since then and think their chomping at the top table now.Well they're nowhere near the top table, Howe disrespected his old club tonight by picking at least 4 Newcastle second string players, Hall, Anderson, Miley?.Willock, no striker, got what they deserved,..fuck all I absolutely despise NUFCI'm sorry Bournemouth won from our perspective, but they deserved itNewcastle where shite. Paul Ferry 14 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:51:59 He had three kids who had not played a game between them on the bench, Jeff, and two keepers. I hate the Skunks but I like Howe!!! Jeff Armstrong 15 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:58:01 Paul, Howe thought he could pick any 11 from 23 and win, he should've known better, he was naive tonight and thought he could manage his squad in a Champions League week and an easy trip to Bournemouth. He got his eye wiped, and I'm glad he did, he was disrespectful and got his just deserts. Will Mabon 16 Posted 11/11/2023 at 19:59:03 They have injuries and a couple of banned players, in honesty.Awful though. Looked nothing like a good team. Paul Ferry 17 Posted 11/11/2023 at 20:02:23 They got schooled by Dortmund. Still think 'disrespectful' is harsh, Jeff, I don't think he had that many options. But as Will says you still would have expected a better performance. Barry Hesketh 18 Posted 11/11/2023 at 20:06:24 I'm hoping that the Bournemouth result opens the door for us to get at those top nine or ten places, we are only six points behind the Barcodes, who travel to Goodison next month, ya just never know do ya? I'll put the hooch back in the cupboard, honest! Dale Self 19 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:00:02 Bubbles damn it. I want to see some bubbles Davo. Dale Self 20 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:06:20 I WILL have a Paqueta. Thank you! 1-0 Hammers Rob Halligan 21 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:13:12 Brighton one up as well. Dale Self 22 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:18:14 There was a question a few weeks back, ‘what other club can blow a three on one break?'': Hammers Jamie Crowley 23 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:19:57 When is the last time all three promoted teams were relegated?I can't remember it happening recently? Jamie Crowley 24 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:28:52 Nunez with two goals chalked off due to offside. Love it. Rob Halligan 25 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:36:11 Don't worry Jamie. They will get lucky third time around Jamie Crowley 27 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:45:23 To be fair Rob, the first offside was a fantastic bit of play by the shite. Nunez barely offside - barely! The second was clearly offside, but another good run of play and a sick finish by Nunez.Liverpool will get their "third time around" based upon what I've seen so far, quite unfortunately. Rob Halligan 28 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:46:29 Great second Villa goal by McGinn. Little drop of his left shoulder to leave a Fulham defender flat footed, then stroked home into the corner from the edge of the area. Jamie Crowley 29 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:49:48 I go the John, come back, 1-0. Saw that one coming... Dale Self 30 Posted 12/11/2023 at 14:49:55 Fucking Soucek gets knocked over and Hammers out of shape in back, one pass into the box blocked into Akonwiyi's path. 1-1 Jay Harris 31 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:18:28 West Ham did an Everton and dropped deep after taking the lead. They look a lot better second half but so do Forest.Don't know whether I would want a draw to keep them both around us or a West Hsm win to keep Forest below us. Michael Kenrick 32 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:26:23 Nice goal by Elanga for Forest.Came after an interesting ref moment at the other end, Bowen getting dragged back before the Forest player nips the ball off his toe, and Bowen goes flying into the area. No foul says the ref.And now Bowen has his revenge! One of those classic headed goals defenders hate. Bowen in exactly the right spot, jumping very high, with three defenders jumping with him. Dale Self 33 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:32:24 Damn, Hammers fans were rather disappointed with Soucek before today. He could have made some friends back if that had gone in. Rob Halligan 34 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:38:14 Sheffield united equalise, and Brighton down to ten men. Webster sent off. Dale Self 36 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:41:09 Will Brighton develop eurosclerosis? Hope so. Oh man, Soucek will get slated for that Two big misses from the six yard box. Rob Halligan 37 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:48:30 Ollie Watkins, about two yards from goal, right in the middle, puts a header wide. How he managed that, god knows? Dale Self 38 Posted 12/11/2023 at 15:49:36 Finally. Good for him, you could see the relief on his face. Soucek. Hammers 3-2 Will Mabon 39 Posted 12/11/2023 at 16:00:11 Noice weekend o' footy, it's bin. John Atkins 40 Posted 12/11/2023 at 16:02:43 We'll finish Top 10 at this rate! Dale Self 41 Posted 12/11/2023 at 16:12:58 Lurvely. You know, it has been so good I think I'll have a cup of coffee and hate on Chelsea for a couple. Michael Kenrick 42 Posted 12/11/2023 at 16:55:18 Nice wrestling VAR decision for City and a penalty. Tony Everan 43 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:00:51 Both holding each other but Curacella a bit daft continuing to hold the shirt when Haaland is attacking the ball. Ref will probably even it up in a bit. Dale Self 44 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:05:02 Oh that was so close to brilliant by City. The dribble and cross were electric. Dale Self 45 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:09:09 Job opening at left-back for City. Turned and toasted. Tony Everan 46 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:15:24 It's a good game, both attacking with electric pace. A few more goals in this one. Mark Murphy 47 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:29:07 Is it only me that thinks that that West Ham goalie sounds like a bit of a tit?? Dale Self 48 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:29:15 The PL has had some fantastic matches from clubs at both ends and it is just past the quarter mark. Dave Abrahams 49 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:34:01 Michael (42) but no wrestling VAR decision for Chelsea's equaliser with the same fullback holding the City defender and making space for Silva to score, weak refereeing after the penalty wth three free kicks for Chelsea and an identical foul refused for City.A good game and more goals to come, I doubt if Cty's No.3 will last long in the second half. Will Mabon 50 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:35:54 Mark, which bit? Michael Kenrick 51 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:42:36 Haaland, in with his crotch!Or would that be 'Dick-ball'???Sorry. Dale Self 52 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:42:47 Just noticed that was Gvardiol that let the pass into the box unchallenged for Chelsea's goal Tony Everan 53 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:44:29 Scored with his scrote, VAR disallowed for ball ball? Michael Kenrick 54 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:48:14 Dive by Gvardiol. Just an outstretched leg. I mean, that was not sufficient contact, Shirley? Mark Murphy 55 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:51:11 Will, the pinky bit around the nippleTough crowd in here tonight… Ian Edwards 56 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:52:18 Brighton failed to beat Sheff Utd at home. Not won in 6 games going back two months. And we were scared shitless of them at home. Two points thrown away. Michael Kenrick 57 Posted 12/11/2023 at 17:53:55 Doku booked for a dive. No contact at all. And he was very selfish taking the shot with 3 citizens storming in. Now pulled by Pep. Dale Self 58 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:02:57 Hand? Head obviously on replay. Sorry, i hate Chelsea Oh and late on the Haaland goal but I'll go with a Tip-in. Tony Everan 59 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:04:14 Last two goals ; Jackson, Bollock. Dale Self 60 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:10:06 Wasn't Jackson Bollock a painter? Paul Ferry 61 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:10:45 I highly recommend Steve Naifeh and Greg Smith's biography of Jackson Pollock, what a fecking life and brilliant reproductions Paul Ferry 62 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:11:30 Oh dear, that was a bad miss Dale Self 63 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:16:13 Jackson Bollock did dick-painting. The true automatism technique was him running off his penis and taking a dip shaking it around. Is that covered in the book? Paul Ferry 64 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:19:57 It's all in there mate Brent Stephens 65 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:20:42 3-4. What a game. Carragher despondent. Dale Self 66 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:20:49 Rodri! Jamie Crowley 67 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:21:21 That deflection was gross. Jamie Crowley 68 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:22:40 Michael @ 54 -Yes I am. And don't call me Shirley. Tony Everan 69 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:23:46 Cruel way to lose a great game Paul Ferry 70 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:23:57 Silva has had a rocky day/game Paul Ferry 71 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:25:39 Absolutely gorgeous day here Jamie Crowley 72 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:27:05 Big pen there! Chelsea surely to tie? What a game! Dale Self 73 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:27:33 Smart play by Broja. Paul Ferry 74 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:28:46 Wow Jamie Crowley 75 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:29:16 What a great pen by Palmer. What a game jeez. Brent Stephens 76 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:29:27 Carragher comes alive again. Paul Ferry 77 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:29:55 Step up Mr Palmer Paul Ferry 78 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:30:14 Carragher is so excited Tony Everan 79 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:30:16 Cool pen from the boy, under pressure. Dale Self 80 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:30:22 Really good match even considering Chelsea may get a point. Paul Ferry 81 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:30:45 Chelsea don't half get the pens Paul Ferry 82 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:31:21 He needs a new face Cole Palmer Jamie Crowley 83 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:31:54 How is that not a red on Sterling? Went all the way through the Foden. Looked a red to me. Jamie Crowley 84 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:32:46 Foden doesn't deserve an article in front of his name for the record... Paul Ferry 85 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:33:48 One of those has to be a red Dale Self 86 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:35:30 Brilliant tackle fest at the end. Jamie Crowley 87 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:35:59 Look what Poch has done in his short time at Chelsea. He will turn things around and they'll be a major force again very soon.Great coach. Paul Ferry 88 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:36:41 what a tackle that was Paul Ferry 89 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:38:28 I don't think that Poch has done a lot at Chelsea to be honest. It will be a while before Chelsea can compete at the top, like us that have bought too much, bought some shite, wasted money, and tied players down to massively long contracts Paul Ferry 90 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:39:05 Oh God, I hate Micah Richards. Jay Harris 91 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:39:48 I'd like to know where he got 8 minutes from. There were no injuries or time wasting and Var was pretty quick. Will Mabon 92 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:47:30 Mark @ 55 - nice. Will Mabon 94 Posted 12/11/2023 at 18:51:47 It never was "Shirley". He said surely. Barry Hesketh 95 Posted 12/11/2023 at 19:00:34 How come Sky have the Saturday lunch-time match in the next set of fixtures? I thought that was reserved for TNT? I won't mention the fixture, but it could help decide where the title might be heading. On another subject, just properly looked at the whole table and 'crisis club' Man Utd lie in 6th place, just 7 points off the leaders! It's going to be one of those mad seasons, isn't it? Will Mabon 96 Posted 12/11/2023 at 19:29:00 Barry, it already is... Barry Hesketh 97 Posted 12/11/2023 at 19:30:37 Very true! Will @96 Paul Ferry 98 Posted 12/11/2023 at 19:39:49 Nice one, Poch just said fuck on 5Live Rob Halligan 99 Posted 12/11/2023 at 21:24:17 Game currently on TNT 1: Inter Milan v Frosinone. Just before half-time Dimarco scores a “Wonder goal†— according to the commentators, the best goal they've ever seen. Halfway through the second half, they are still drooling over it. Remind you of anyone, making their debut for Everton?… https://onefootball.com/en/news/dimarco-segna-da-centrocampo-eurogol-in-inter-frosinone-video-38553143https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zmSYlZjrDFQ Will Mabon 100 Posted 12/11/2023 at 22:34:16 An almost forgotten Sigurdsson super strike that, Rob.Early in the era of the new-owner expectations, that never really happened. Seems a long time back now. Eric Myles 101 Posted 13/11/2023 at 01:45:49 Michael #1, I think the VAR is a "terms of reference" issue in that they can only make recommendations for offside, or fouls in the box, not on every decision the ref makes, otherwise a game would last for hours. But as in this case, it lead to a goal wrongly being scored from a clear and obvious error – so it begs the question as to what use is it then? Danny O’Neill 102 Posted 13/11/2023 at 07:50:24 I was too caught up in Everton. On a separate note, it's Bobby Charlton's funeral today. A fine servant to the game of football that we all love and follow. Dale Self 103 Posted 14/11/2023 at 13:24:05 Ingerlund U17s level it up with a nice one two outside the box. 1-1 Dale Self 104 Posted 14/11/2023 at 13:51:47 Ndala with a fantastic curling shot over defenders into the side netting just a few feet off the by-line 2-1 England Paul Ferry 105 Posted 15/11/2023 at 19:46:52 Anyone have a link by any chance for the Cray Valley - Charlton match? Ray Roche 106 Posted 15/11/2023 at 20:37:52 Paul, it's on BBC 2 Wales, I don't know where else though. Paul Ferry 107 Posted 15/11/2023 at 20:59:20 Cheers Ray! Paul Ferry 108 Posted 15/11/2023 at 21:00:07 Ah, pretty much all over, I see, shame Paul Ferry 109 Posted 17/11/2023 at 21:03:59 The England game is exciting.
