Not one to combine football and religion but two largely non Catholic countries playing each other. Brian Williams 2 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:06:36 But you just have Kieran.Like saying "Not one to misbehave as a guest in someone's house" and then pissing up their curtains. 😂 Kieran Kinsella 3 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:07:42 BrianI was being ironic per yesterdays Danny post Brian Williams 4 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:08:32 Ah irony. Kieran Kinsella 5 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:12:05 Georges Mikautadze seems quite a player. He was excellent in the previous game. I see his playing second tier in France but I should imagine he will get some offers after this tournament. Duncan McDine 6 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:17:00 Holes appearing in the Czech defence. Literally Kieran Kinsella 7 Posted 22/06/2024 at 15:21:23 The coach didn't let the subs Lingr long Paul Ferry 8 Posted 22/06/2024 at 17:35:47 did anyone else see that princely OG in a tourney of OGs? Paul Ferry 9 Posted 22/06/2024 at 18:15:27 Wow, an unselfish Ronaldo! Portugal teaching Turkey here. With Spain and Germany, the outstanding teams so far. Kieran Kinsella 10 Posted 22/06/2024 at 18:28:13 Portugal were my pre-tournament pick. I worried a bit about that after last weeks game but this is more like it against a decent if not great Turkey team. But yeah Paul Spain and Germany certainly are the other two who have stood out by a significant margin. Paul Ferry 11 Posted 22/06/2024 at 18:35:51 Not much between the three of them to be honest Kieran, perhaps home advantage? But these teams have a small army of fans. Feel sorry for the Turks after their first game and Portugal, after all, were the first European country to trade slaves ... Dennis Stevens 12 Posted 22/06/2024 at 18:54:41 The own goals are the greatest joy to be had from this tournament, Paul - let's hope they can keep coming up with new ones! Liam Mogan 13 Posted 22/06/2024 at 18:58:30 Portugal looked decent today after a poor showing last time out. Strong squad especially in midfield. Nearly all would walk into the England midfield. Although calling it a midfield is stretching it atm. Paul Ferry 14 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:07:23 It's amazing Dennis. I think I heard someone say that there were 11 in the last Euros. Might have heard that wrong. That Turkey one is the best of the bunch so far! Paul Ferry 15 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:09:42 Don't you think Liam that on paper they would not but on performance so far they could well? Colin Glassar 16 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:16:08 Neither are they Buddhist, Kieran. Liam Mogan 17 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:20:39 I think even on paper any from Bernardo Silva, Fernandes, Vintinha, João Palhinha and arguably Rúben Neves and Matheus Nunes are stronger midfielders than any in England squad. We don't really have any midfielders of that ilk who are tactically aware, can keep the ball, create, and do the defensive work as well. Kieran Kinsella 18 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:51:43 Only one red card in this tournament so far too. That seems unusual. Maybe their saving them for when they need them. Paul Ferry 19 Posted 22/06/2024 at 19:59:46 KDB keeping his gob tightly shut for the anthem, he looks a bit of a short arse there but I suppose he's next to the keeper. Keepers, on the other hand, give it loads for their anthems. Colin Glassar 20 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:01:56 Poor Beckham, having to resort to crappy adverts for crisps and betting sites. Maybe inter Miami and Victoria's are not producing the millions they expected. Paul Ferry 21 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:02:25 And in the first match Kieran. Have the refs been asked to take it easy. There have been some shocking yellows not given. Paul Ferry 22 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:03:47 Decent start by Belgo. He's good at them. Alan McGuffog 23 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:40:48 I know me footy. Just about to say Onana has been largely anonymous and then he put through a ball that Colin Harvey would have been proud of. I'll get me coat Liam Mogan 25 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:46:41 He's a player of moments isn't he Alan? Can do some amazing things but more often he's like the invisible man. Can see why he gets a lot of interest from CL clubs though. He has talent and potential. Has been frustrating to watch for the Blues. Paul Ferry 26 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:51:53 That was a great pass Alan. But overall I still see not a great deal but he's never misses a Belgo gam so I must be missing something. I suspect that Liam is right and his fee is going up after every game. Please God may we cash in and we can then find a replacement for DCL who is not Abrahams, Ings, Che Adams, Weghorst, or Beto. Andrew Merrick 27 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:54:46 Amadou doing what he said he would, getting noticed, for the right reasons, good on him.If there is any way we can keep our top players we should, this lad, Jarrad, and Calvertr-Lewin.Sometimes you don't know what you've got... til it's gone!Keep Everton together till the new owners bed in... Liam Mogan 28 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:56:20 My 16-year-old has just put Lukaku's name in the mix as a Calvert-Lewin replacement given the Roma link etc. Dave Cashen 29 Posted 22/06/2024 at 20:59:44 Belgium not putting this to bed. This could get a little nervy for them Joe McMahon 30 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:06:20 Paul, if he has a relegation cause, Adebayo? Les Callan 31 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:08:57 Liam @ 25. I can honestly say hand on heart that I have never seen Onana do anything “ amazingâ€. Quite good on rare occasions, but amazing, never. Alan McGuffog 32 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:12:18 He's a conundrum wrapped in an enigma dipped in batter and breadcrumbs and deep fried. He's obviously highly rated and I wish him well...if we can get over £45 mill then I'm sure it would be acceptable business all round. He'll never be Mark Pembridge! Liam Mogan 33 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:14:45 I'm not his biggest fan Les. I'd be happy to cash in. Does on rare occasions show skills (like the pass mentioned above) that turns heads though.Maybe amazing is pushing it adjective wise tbf Mike Gaynes 34 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:22:30 Onana with a splendid tackle to start the play, and our old friend Rom finishes it. You bet I feel a moment of Blue pride there. Andrew Merrick 35 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:27:18 Rom isn'tcallowed to score is he...that var offside is ridiculous, a toe, really, ffs Kevin Hayes 36 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:37:13 Onana is a bit of a conundrum: bags of potential but not quite delivering. Whilst I like him and think he will be a star in the future, given our current issues with PSR, he seems to be the sacrificial lamb to solve some short-term cash issues. He has made noises about moving to a club giving Champions League opportunities so he is the one I would sell to balance the books with a big sell-on clause. kevin hayes 37 Posted 22/06/2024 at 21:49:46 So anyone with a bet on Lukaku for most goals must feel sick now 3 ruled out. Kieran Kinsella 38 Posted 22/06/2024 at 23:51:34 Everton legends Valencia v Rondon in Copa America. Former red carded already Kieran Kinsella 39 Posted 23/06/2024 at 00:33:06 Rondon with an assist Mike Gaynes 40 Posted 23/06/2024 at 00:39:39 Yeah, Kieran, our old friend Enner made a big boo-boo on that one.2 assists now for Rondon. Kieran Kinsella 41 Posted 23/06/2024 at 00:42:39 Mike did you like the almost horizontal diving header? Is this the same Rondon?
