Disclaimer () Brian Harrison 1 Posted 30/06/2024 at 10:26:41 Let's hope the real England turn up, but I fear that under Southgate we seem to be more concerned with the defensive side of the game, which limits our attacking options. We have some really talented players who for whatever reason haven't during this tournament got anywhere near their club form. Maybe if Southgate would play players in their proper positions it may pay dividends. Phil Foden was unbelievable in the No 10 role for Man City with plenty of goals and assists, but for some strange reason Southgate plays him wide left. Bellingham has been sensational for Real and can play in the 10 role or the 6 role equally effectively, I think Palmer is a better option wide right than Saka and I don't think Kane is 100% fti. I would be happy with Watkins up top, he has pace which always worries defenders. I also wish I could get Eze into the starting line up as he always excites me every time I watch him always looks to g forward and take people on.I would suggest Southgate take the handbrake off let Rice sit in front of the back 4 and give Bellingham a free role to go forward when appropriate. Andrew Merrick 2 Posted 30/06/2024 at 16:41:29 Pickford looked to hurt his hand in the warm up? Colin Glassar 3 Posted 30/06/2024 at 16:54:31 Did the same before the Denmark game, Andrew. All psychological. England players look like they're going to a funeral. Kunal Desai 4 Posted 30/06/2024 at 16:57:04 One change. Southgate is a buffoon. James Marshall 5 Posted 30/06/2024 at 16:59:13 Looks like Pickford damaged his little finger. Heavily strapped during the anthem. Kieran Kinsella 6 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:05:42 Trippier gets that great ball from Walker then does nothing with it then sets up Guehi to get booked. Steve Brown 7 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:09:04 Such a convincing start. Kieran Kinsella 8 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:09:12 We are gonna lose this aren't we? Paul Ferry 9 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:09:27 I cannot believe the prick picked that team. England win, hunky dory, same team next time. Prick. James Marshall 10 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:10:12 Cheap yellow cards these. This ref must have a new set of cards he wants to show off! Colin Glassar 11 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:10:14 England play like zombies. Steve Brown 12 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:10:34 Trippier going full Jonny Wilkinson there! Kieran Kinsella 13 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:11:01 Is Trippier drunk? Steve Brown 14 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:13:53 The longer Southgate has with the team, the worse they get. Neil Copeland 15 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:14:16 Is this the Romanian ref again? Kieran Kinsella 16 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:14:57 Is this that Romanian ref again? 🟨🟨🟨 James Marshall 17 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:15:09 He's Turkish I think. Same ref that got attacked by that club official a few months ago. He's a card happy twat. Kieran Kinsella 18 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:15:15 Neil lmao jinx Neil Copeland 19 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:16:28 Kieran, nah just great minds….. Neil Copeland 20 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:17:39 Wow, this is getting a bit silly now James Marshall 21 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:18:15 WTF is Bellingham doing there? Kieran Kinsella 22 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:18:15 We aren't going to end with 11 Bill Gall 23 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:19:11 I can see England ending up with 9 men! Paul Ferry 24 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:22:52 Walker is having a fecking 'mare; my feelings about the gozzy-eyed capitalist twat are now hurricane 4. The knobhead looks like the neighbour you have a natter over the fence with while he fondles his gladiolus. Neil Copeland 25 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:25:21 Easy Soren Moyer 26 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:25:35 0-1 James Marshall 27 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:25:53 Oh dear. There it is Colin Glassar 28 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:26:02 Southgate out? 😄😄😄 Kieran Kinsella 29 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:26:15 PaulWalker and Trippier both. Wtf James Marshall 30 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:27:44 Guehi injured. Get Jarrad warmed up. Oh wait. Colin Glassar 31 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:27:54 Everton could beat this England team. Kieran Kinsella 32 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:29:06 At least they scored before we go down to 10 men so Southgate can't blame the ref Julian Exshaw 33 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:29:52 Sean Dyche next? Stranger things. Paul Ferry 34 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:31:13 Yeah, Guehi is great, isn't he. I'm almost enjoying Southgate's humiliation. Four times now he has picked this team. Four times. Guehi needs subbing; injury, card, ans he's been shite. Where's the wonder kid Bellingham when you need him? Foden is good at shooting life-forming jizz but not on German pitches. Darryl Ritchie 35 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:31:24 This England team isn't very good. James Marshall 36 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:32:21 Does anyone have a clue what the plan is? Colin Glassar 37 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:33:22 The 3 city players and trippier have been atrocious. And I don't blame the players for this. This is on Southgate. Kunal Desai 38 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:36:15 Not only did Southgate take an injured left back and and injured rightback, he then plays the injured rightback at left back. Baffling, totally, totally baffling.Couldn't make it up. If Taylor was turnip head, Southgate is a swede head. Steve Brown 39 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:36:45 Mainoo v Slovakia James Marshall 40 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:37:16 When we have the ball they're all static. Nobody moving, nobody making themselves available and nobody making a run. It's shite. Steve Brown 41 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:38:45 Hitting long diagonals at those noted target men Foden and Saka. Don Alexander 42 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:39:02 The plan is "all stand around knocking the ball sideways and backwards whilst nobody runs forward at all"........ as ever in this day and age. It's the equivalent of a tennis player solely concentrating on returning the ball without ever trying to hit a winner, just hoping your opponent is crappier than you.Turgid, to put it mildly. Julian Exshaw 43 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:40:28 Belgium had its 'golden generation ' but were badly managed, not coached because international management is more about tactics and formations. That being said, with a couple of changes I'm England will get back into this. Julian Exshaw 44 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:41:22 'Sure' Paul Ferry 45 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:41:37 Cowardly, neutral, yellow, no-army-gobshites, white flag, fuck it's the Germans, Heidi groomers Switzerland would be 2 up by now IF the gozzy-eyed capitalist twat and his 11 matchstick boys scrape through James Marshall 46 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:41:52 Gordon and Palmer. Stating the obvious Kieran Kinsella 47 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:43:28 My dog is taking a dump this is exciting Mark Murphy 48 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:44:15 If Everton played like this I wouldn't bother watching them.Shocking shite Paul Ferry 49 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:44:19 How are Saka and Bellingham starting? Paul Ferry 50 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:44:49 You did Mark Colin Glassar 51 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:46:08 Thank you Southgate, you gozzy bellend, for ruining these young players. Gobshite. Is this ref sponsored by MoonPig? Peter Gorman 52 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:46:33 Any update on the dog, Kieran? Steve Brown 53 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:49:17 Could anyone explaIn England's tactical plan to me? Neil Copeland 54 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:49:56 Wtf John Stones? Neil Copeland 55 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:50:52 Steve, that's simple mate, they don't have one Kieran Kinsella 56 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:51:46 If I was the England manager right now I'd rip into Guehi and Trippier saying “what the fuck are you doing out there? I picked Branthwaite and Chilwell to play.†Paul Ferry 57 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:52:21 HAHA Harold BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO You'd better make changes for the second half gozzy-eyed capitalist twat or I'm going to kick your garden gnomes over and smash up your sundial Kieran Kinsella 58 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:52:28 Peter yeah she laid a good firm 3 pounder. Neil Copeland 59 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:55:07 Get Palmer and Gordon on, take off Bellingham and Saka and move Foden into the 10 role.Give it 15 mins then swap out Kane for Watkins. Kieran Kinsella 60 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:55:19 Even the Wally with the Brolly was smart enough to realize it was a good idea to stick a left sided midfielder (Barry) in midfield to provide balance versus the Frank/Slippy combo. Southgates only innovation as boss was working on powering corners at Maguire head and that was 6 years ago. Colin Glassar 61 Posted 30/06/2024 at 17:58:11 Southgate was shite as a player and he's more shite as a manager now. Neil Copeland 62 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:00:00 Kieran, good to hear it, sounds like she is in good health Paul Ferry 63 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:00:07 Stating the obvious - how smart do you look now mine's a half not taking Branthwaite or Grealish?Kieran weighs his dog's shits, that's not right. Anthony A Hughes 64 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:03:34 Rice alongside a roving Bellingham and Foden in the no10 role.Palmer should be on the left and Gordon on the right and get Kane off for the more mobile Watkins.Oh and Southgate out Bill Gall 65 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:05:44 No changes just shows how poor you have to play to stay in this game with this manager. And we criticize Dyche Kunal Desai 66 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:06:04 No changes. Fuck off! Colin Glassar 67 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:06:32 No subs? Fucking genius 😂😂😂😂😄 Neil Copeland 68 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:07:08 No changes Neil Copeland 69 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:09:45 Fuck me how simple was that? Kieran Kinsella 70 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:10:06 Offside surely Mike Gaynes 71 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:10:32 No goal. Colin Glassar 72 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:10:52 After Southgate who? Someone safe the blazers like? Or someone radical? Neil Copeland 73 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:11:09 Maybe not, offside Kieran Kinsella 74 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:11:39 Colin most likely it'll be Frank Lampard Paul Ferry 75 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:11:53 Beyond belief Neil. He's more stubborn than Moyes and Dyche rolled into one.Offside by a mile and Foden could have been two yards back easily. Mike Gaynes 76 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:14:50 Trippier should have taken the shot, and Foden should have held his run. The defender was right in his eyeline. Kieran Kinsella 77 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:15:00 Wtf is going on here Anthony A Hughes 78 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:15:00 Shaw and Wharton were two wastes of a squad places.Should have taken Grealish and Maddison. Paul Ferry 79 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:15:01 What do the Yanks and us have in common? Both shite and both getting knocked out, though Panama has a smaller population than Slovakia and we didn't invade Slovakia. Edward Rogers 80 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:15:50 Declan Rice is morphing into Ray Wilkins. PASS THE BALL FORWARDSfor fs Tony McNulty 81 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:16:05 Flurry of excitement and then up to the usual standard. I'd love to be proved wrong though. Mike Gaynes 82 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:16:13 And both will need new managers. Kieran Kinsella 83 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:16:27 I'm confused as an EPL watcher I thought the job of the ref is to fabricate a way for the “big†team to win. Paul Ferry 84 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:17:00 Yes Mike. Desperately. Robert Tressell 85 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:17:05 I don't like the Slovakia coach's shoes. White pumps fine to dress down a blazer. But very chunky soles Colin Glassar 86 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:17:52 Stones is having a stinker Anthony A Hughes 87 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:19:21 Saka as well Colin, Palmer should be on. Paul Ferry 88 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:19:51 Mainoo is the only one of them who can hold his head high. GET SAKA AND BELLINGHAM OFF NOW Jamie Crowley 89 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:19:57 Robert -Those shoes are hideous. Kieran Kinsella 90 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:20:01 A proper corrupt EPL ref would call that a penalty Mike Gaynes 91 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:20:03 Robert, do you have a list of possible footwear replacements? I believe the shoe transfer window is open. Tony McNulty 92 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:21:01 Half an hour to go. Still no subs ha ha ha Julian Exshaw 93 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:21:09 An hour gone. Time to change! Neil Copeland 94 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:21:11 Slovakia making changes before England, unbelievable Jamie Crowley 95 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:21:58 Colin -Post-Southgate (if it happens) this team and it's players need the most attack-minded English manager they can find.Whomever that is! Ian Jones 96 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:22:05 Julian...time to change...the manager!Early days, England to win Paul Ferry 97 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:22:12 Are Forest Gump's shoes sensible black lace ups - and Slovakia make subs Anthony A Hughes 98 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:23:07 Get your finger out your arse Southgate you useless negative twat we're goin out Colin Glassar 99 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:23:36 Is Joe Mercer available? Can't wait for England to get knocked out so I can enjoy the rest of the tournament. And see the back of Southgate once and for all. Jamie Crowley 100 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:23:40 I usually yell, "GET UP" at 99% of the flopping idiots conning the ref. That Trippier tackle hurt. That was nasty and I don't blame him going down in the least. That freaking looked painful. Paul Ferry 101 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:24:02 Palmer Julian Exshaw 102 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:24:03 Was that not a yellow on Trippier?? Jamie Crowley 103 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:25:40 Julian -Great question. That was nasty. Not sure how in the world that wasn't a yellow. Kieran Kinsella 104 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:26:22 I think the ref left his cards in the changing room at half time Paul Ferry 105 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:27:15 I called this yesterday. Saka at left back. And not one of you bastards responded to my brilliantly creative, insightful, and important post. Bill Gall 106 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:27:55 Feel a little sorry foe the England players as this ref was giving yellow cards out to English Players like free samples but know he does not know where he put them Julian Exshaw 107 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:28:14 Referee handed out the yellows too early Jamie Kieran Kinsella 108 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:30:29 Can we bring David Platt on to score the last minute goal? Or will Southgate sub Kane for Alan Smith? Jamie Crowley 109 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:31:08 How in the world has Palmer been left off the pitch? He's been England's best player every time he's been out there. Mike Gaynes 110 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:31:22 Bellingham could have seen yellow right there. Really weak dive. Tony McNulty 111 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:32:52 Have England had a single shot on target? Kieran Kinsella 112 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:33:29 Can we try keeping it on the ground instead of whipping in slow floated crosses Jamie Crowley 113 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:33:45 Slovakia masters at the dark arts. Second only to the Mexicans.Actually to be fair might be legit? I dunno. Colin Glassar 114 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:34:46 Everything breaks down with Rice. Should've taken Phillips. Mike Gaynes 115 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:34:53 No, Tony. The only shot on goal in the entire game has been Slovakia's goal. Paul Ferry 116 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:35:23 Gordon for Foden whose delivery has been poor so far unlike his "partner" Anthony A Hughes 117 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:35:35 Is it just me or is Bellingham not the all conquering force we're left to believe? Jamie Crowley 118 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:35:57 One shot the entire game? Didn't think of it but yup.Gross. Neil Copeland 119 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:36:51 Does Southgate not want to win this? Tony McNulty 120 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:37:02 Rather an indictment Mike Jamie Crowley 121 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:37:40 Oh my God Harry... Mike Gaynes 122 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:37:47 How in the world does Kane miss that? Not even possible. Julian Exshaw 123 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:37:57 He should take a centre half off and risk 3 at the back. Slovakia won't leave their half again. Robert Tressell 124 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:39:20 Too right Anthony #117, Bellingham seems to have believed his own hype. Gordon and Bowen should be on the flanks with Palmer pulling the strings at No 10. Alan McGuffog 125 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:39:25 Wash your mouth out Anthony. He's the greatest player the world has ever seen. It's Southgate who makes him look a pudn. Bit like that free header 'carry just fluffed. It's cos Southgate is a Tory. Apparently. Tony McNulty 126 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:39:46 Here we go. Nailed on that we get subs with three minutes left. Paul Ferry 127 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:40:16 BRING EZE OR GORDON OR BOTH ON YOU GOZZY-EYED CAPITALIST TWAT. DO SOMETHING Mike Gaynes 128 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:40:35 Post Andrew Grey 129 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:40:40 I wonder if Southgate's family have been kidnapped by Slovakian/Man Utd fans and he's not allowed to make changes to try and win the game? Jamie Crowley 130 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:41:00 OH MY WORD! Can't BUY a goal. And my pet peeve, that wasn't shot on frame, even though it actually hit the frame... Anthony A Hughes 131 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:42:01 Walker's playing like he's had one shag too many Rob Jones 132 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:42:25 This all comes from not taking a fit, left-footed left-back. Tyrick Mitchell should have been on the plane to Germany. Instead, Mr Bold Choices decided to take an injured left-back and an aging right-back. The team is utterly unbalanced. Gordon should have started, with Palmer starting on the right.Instead, England have been absolute dogshit. Jamie Crowley 133 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:42:52 How impressive is Palmer. What a player. Paul Ferry 134 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:43:20 woodwork Jamie mate, not frame Julian Exshaw 135 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:44:16 Are the players back at FF tomorrow? Colin Glassar 136 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:44:21 Iceland all over Jamie Crowley 137 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:44:36 Paul -Are the post and crossbar not part of what constitutes the net? Or does the net just hang in mid-air by Holy Order? Paul Ferry 138 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:45:50 we call it the woodwork ven though it's not wood Kieran Kinsella 139 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:46:16 Who's excited to see Eze come on versus Grealish and co who are consigned to Wayne Linekers Ibiza night club? Jamie Crowley 140 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:46:44 Paul -Very progressive of you. Find a new word to give the obvious new meaning. 😜🙠Mick O'Malley 141 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:46:45 Rob agreed about Mitchell, pointless and a waste of a spot in the squad taking Shaw Paul Ferry 142 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:46:51 Take his OBE back Mike Gaynes 143 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:47:11 Jamie, the sack holds the bollocks, but it isn't part of them. Jamie Crowley 144 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:47:35 Ima bout to pop a few "lucky Zyns" for my English friends. Tony McNulty 145 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:48:11 Foden has been pretty poor Julian Exshaw 146 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:49:16 Surely Anthony Gordon should be on. Colin Glassar 147 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:49:37 Feel sorry for the fans and the players. Southgate has sucked the life out of this squad. Peter Gorman 148 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:50:14 Anybody else have a dog? Preferably one that has done a poo? Paul Ferry 149 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:50:23 This is a hundred more times shameful than the Jocks Mike Gaynes 150 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:50:48 Foden bears a striking facial resemblance to Boris Karloff and Sam Eagle of the Muppets. Jamie Crowley 151 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:51:51 Not sure my Zyns are working? Tony McNulty 152 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:52:49 Palmer reminds me of the guy on the front of Mad magazine Paul Ferry 153 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:52:54 Yanks, Iceland, Slovakia. Jamie Crowley 154 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:53:26 I know England have been sub-par, and that's being kind, but I'm still just bewildered at this.Michael Kenrick - I think you were correct about England getting past Slovakia. Neil Copeland 155 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:53:32 Peter, I've got two and both in the garden but no movement as yet Anthony A Hughes 156 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:53:33 Toney on now!!!fuck right off Southgate Mike Gaynes 157 Posted 30/06/2024 at 18:53:50 94 minutes. Colin Glassar 216 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:19:32 Southgate telling them he wants 11 men on the goal line for 15 mins. Michael Kenrick 223 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:23:04 Oh… I guess that means we're not doing penalties then. I mean, your two best ball strikers… Gareth would not be so dumb… would he? Neil Copeland 234 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:30:19 And without the football, Michael. I think we all thought the same. Neil Copeland 235 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:31:01 Colin, nah I reckon they will roll over. Kieran Kinsella 236 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:31:55 There's no (William) Telling Paul Ferry 237 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:33:59 The Swiss will give us a hiedeing Tom Bowers 238 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:35:22 Southgate has to go without a doubt.Playing almost the same starting eleven showed that he has no balls and as per usual They struggled until he had to make changes but by then Slovakia should have put the game out of reach. He was saved at the bell by Bellingham!!! Andy Meighan 239 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:35:27 What a negative manager.Got out of jail with that late equaliser and since Kane scored I don't think they've got out of their own half. And to think there's some who think they could go all the way.Absolutely shocking anti football awful to watch, hope Slovakia score I really do. Paul Ferry 240 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:35:34 We need to start Palmer against the Swiss, if it alps… Jamie Crowley 241 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:37:06 Toney. Hit the frame, son. I mean any of it — not including posts and crossbar. Neil Copeland 242 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:37:44 Jeez, screaming at the telly — “Just keep hold of the fucking ballâ€. Jamie Crowley 243 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:37:52 A rinse. A toothbrush. A gallon of water incoming!Congratulations, England fans. Great game. Paul Ferry 244 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:39:05 I fucking hate this song! Neil Copeland 245 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:40:27 Jamie, your commitment is the stuff of legends. Thanks! James Marshall 246 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:42:08 Well, fuck me, that was stressful. I'm exhausted. Paul Ferry 247 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:42:36 The chief lucky fucker and the other lucky fuckers should be reflecting on how shit they played. That reset for the second half of extra time could have cost us dearly, you defensive-minded goggle-eyed capitalist twat. Dave Cashen 248 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:43:15 Mike. Judging by that effort from Toney near the end and the way he defended corners, I'm guessing he backed us to win 2-1. Colin Glassar 249 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:43:44 I'd sack Southgate as soon as he steps out of the shower and puts his nozzle back on. Paul Ferry 250 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:45:13 My word… Pieter Schmeichel is good looking. Neil Copeland 251 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:46:47 Looking forward to a rest and decent football from Spain and Georgia. Danny O’Neill 252 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:47:30 It's England… doesn't bother me, never has done. Surrounded by England supporters. They got out of jail, but as they say, a game is never over until the final whistle. Billy Shears 253 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:47:47 Jeez, England got lucky...I wish us Blues had such Lady Luck smiling down on us! Rob Jones 254 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:53:18 I'm relieved for Gareth Southgate, because the abuse he'd have received would have been absolutely bleak. That being said, he's absolutely fucked up this tournament, on tactics, on selection, on preparation. He's taken injured players, he's stubbornly refused to play an on-form Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon. He's fucked up so many decisions.Someone on here today threw up Klopp as a candidate as the next manager. If I was English, I'd be delighted with him as manager, because he'd get so much more from the national pool than Southgate, who's out of time, no matter how far they go. Paul Ferry 255 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:58:39 Slovakia's xG: 1.84; England 1.48. I hope that the lucky mediocrities are no longer celebrating and are reflecting on how shite they were and were bailed out by a moment of magic that no one saw coming and didn't deserve.Over to you, Yanks. Colin Glassar 256 Posted 30/06/2024 at 19:59:03 You say the same after every England game, Danny. Are you sure about that? Andrew Merrick 257 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:09:10 I've had more than enough of Gareth, he isn't learning or growing, he's stuck in a rut of his own making.Time for a new face, not klopp for me, but maybe an Ancelloti type? Christy Ring 258 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:13:40 Southgate was 30 seconds from being absolutely slaughtered, but he still hasn't a clue. He played Eze and Saka at left back, the Shaw gamble was ridiculous at international level, and not bringing a left-sided player like Branthwaite will come back to haunt him. Colin Glassar 259 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:17:31 For all our sakes, I hope we don't come up against this Spanish side. We'll be turned into a chorizo sausage. Andrew Clare 260 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:18:07 Lucky England. They looked completely bereft of ideas. A dreadfully slow build-up from defence allowing the opposition to take shape and easily defend.I can't see anything changing while the current people are managing this team. Paul Ferry 261 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:18:35 Get inHow many ogs is that now? Neil Copeland 262 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:18:55 Get in!!!!! Colin Glassar 263 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:25:32 What are these Georgians on? Raymond Fox 265 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:39:50 I stopped watching in disgust when Slovakia scored.I think Stones had took 2 Lorazepans, it was all so slow at the back, I don't know what the hell he was doing. In fact, none of our defenders look worth two bob.I didn't watch any more, they just wind me up. The Swiss look a lot too slick for us in the next game. Colin Glassar 266 Posted 30/06/2024 at 20:40:53 My god, that American robot is annoying. You didn't miss anything, Raymond. Two minutes of decent football either side of 120 minutes or pure shite. Billy Shears 268 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:12:34 What does Stones do to keep being picked? All I see him do is pass sideways five to ten yards! Michael Kenrick 269 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:13:53 That kid Jamal can't half hit the ball. Very strong free-kick before the goal. Paul Hewitt 270 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:23:22 Whatever happened to just clear the ball?. Everyone wants to play out from the back now Tom Bowers 271 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:25:03 I said right from the off that Southgate was not good enough to manage England and somehow he has been very lucky to survive all these years. How England are still in this competition is a miracle and no thanks to Southgate. His squad selection and starting eleven selections have shown a complete lack of footballing intelligence.Yes, there is a hardcore of players who we all would have picked but right from the start he goofed big time with the ''Trent'' experiment and didn't correct it for the next match. The centre-back pairing is woeful and how Guehi got in the side is beyond me.Eze and Palmer should have been starters as people like Foden and Saka have not performed despite great Premiership form and Mainoo is not ready for the World stage.England have been playing as poorly as any team can in a competition of this magnitude but they are still there and even poor teams win cup competitions when the luck is with them. Go figure! Paul Hewitt 272 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:34:00 That's never offside Michael Kenrick 273 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:35:55 Nico fairly smashes it into the roof of the net for Spain. No messing. Mark Frere 274 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:36:59 That Williams goal for Spain was Kanchelskis-esque. Danny O’Neill 275 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:41:53 Being amongst England supporters, once again they have ruined one of my favourite apres-ski songs, Sweet Caroline. Brian Wilkinson 276 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:43:04 Cannot see anyone touching Spain, been best team in the tournement. Paul Ferry 277 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:44:41 Looks sadly that Georgia are taking the midnight train to Tiblisi Michael Kenrick 278 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:45:41 Danny, Yellow card for needless repetition. How many times are you gonna tell us the same thing? Stuart Sharp 279 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:51:25 Interesting Tom 271. I agree with lots of that, but I think Guehi has done OK and thought Mainoo was pretty decent. Mark Frere 280 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:54:24 Germany Vs Spain... a tough one to call. Billy Shears 281 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:58:25 Hope Germany,Mark...I've got fifty notes on them to win the pot!!! Mark Murphy 282 Posted 30/06/2024 at 21:59:34 Pipped me to it Paul, nice one! Billy Shears 283 Posted 30/06/2024 at 22:04:09 Maybe in future it would be interesting at least to see the Premier League Champs verses the England team... just a thought like! Paul Ferry 284 Posted 30/06/2024 at 22:11:13 Hope you enjoyed a few Mark watching Spain/Georgia - good match. I think that Germany will edge past Spain I think on Friday/ Billy Shears 285 Posted 30/06/2024 at 22:59:19 Maybe a Community Shield match??!! Colin Glassar 286 Posted 30/06/2024 at 23:23:08 For footballs sake I hope Spain win it all. Tony Abrahams 287 Posted 01/07/2024 at 07:51:46 Billy@268, I think he's waiting for the players ahead of him to use a little bit of football intelligence, by getting in those little pockets and finding some space. One of the major problems seems to be that Harry Kane, is coming into those area's, instead of trying to stay further up the pitch, and everything has become condensed.Slow and ponderous, no real fluency, horrible to watch and very easy to play against, is how I constantly view this England team, at the moment. It's no use getting out of jail if you're not prepared to rehabilitate yourself because there's only one place you are going if you don't!! Robert Tressell 288 Posted 01/07/2024 at 08:27:52 We are missing Maguire as an aerial threat at set pieces. We have no width when we have the ball. Even with left footed Saka at LB he was constantly coming infield rather than staying on the touchline. We are not working hard enough in possession. We press hard for the ball when we lose possession - but are static in possession. Bellingham is very guilty of this. He had another very poor game last night other than the quality goal. Dave Abrahams 289 Posted 01/07/2024 at 09:16:05 Tony (268), I think Southgate likes cricket and bases his plans on that game, long and slow.Mind you, it might pay off by him winning the tournament — wouldn't that be wonderful for the English fans! Danny O’Neill 290 Posted 01/07/2024 at 10:16:02 I'll take my yellow Michaeil and won't comment on England again.I'm just waiting for the first Everton fixtures. Raymond Fox 291 Posted 01/07/2024 at 12:00:57 Colin @ 266, I always record the games and skim through the boring stuff later. Like I say, I started watch the game live but I was shouting at the TV till I couldn't stand to watch the rubbish anymore.Surely they know that they should be trying to find space upfield to maybe be in a position to receive a pass?Branthwaite might be less experienced than Stones and Guehi but I'm sure he would have more life in him than them two.The manager needs to go after the tournament, he comes across like there's no bite in him. Someone with some fire in them like Fergurson had would be better. The bottom line though is most of the players are over-rated, the media keep showing you the best bits of them and leaving out 95% of their play. Andrew Clare 292 Posted 01/07/2024 at 12:40:38 I haven't watched Stones much in recent years and I am sure most of his play is very good but, when he has the ball half-way up the pitch and he constantly slowly passes the ball from side to side or behind him, it completely nulls the team as an attacking threat. For a large part of last night's match when we were a goal behind, he continued to play that way.He should be running with the ball forwards and looking to release it. This unsettles the opposition and creates openings.Just an observation but it's just frustrating to watch and the forwards must feel the same way. Ed Prytherch 293 Posted 01/07/2024 at 13:04:59 Andrew, I think that Stones has team orders to not venture out of his half. Pep allows him to run into gaps.
