Let's hope the real England turn up, but I fear that under Southgate we seem to be more concerned with the defensive side of the game, which limits our attacking options.

We have some really talented players who for whatever reason haven't during this tournament got anywhere near their club form. Maybe if Southgate would play players in their proper positions it may pay dividends.

Phil Foden was unbelievable in the No 10 role for Man City with plenty of goals and assists, but for some strange reason Southgate plays him wide left.

Bellingham has been sensational for Real and can play in the 10 role or the 6 role equally effectively, I think Palmer is a better option wide right than Saka and I don't think Kane is 100% fti.

I would be happy with Watkins up top, he has pace which always worries defenders. I also wish I could get Eze into the starting line up as he always excites me every time I watch him always looks to g forward and take people on.

I would suggest Southgate take the handbrake off let Rice sit in front of the back 4 and give Bellingham a free role to go forward when appropriate.

Billy@268, I think he's waiting for the players ahead of him to use a little bit of football intelligence, by getting in those little pockets and finding some space. One of the major problems seems to be that Harry Kane, is coming into those area's, instead of trying to stay further up the pitch, and everything has become condensed.

Slow and ponderous, no real fluency, horrible to watch and very easy to play against, is how I constantly view this England team, at the moment.

It's no use getting out of jail if you're not prepared to rehabilitate yourself because there's only one place you are going if you don't!!

We are missing Maguire as an aerial threat at set pieces.

We have no width when we have the ball. Even with left footed Saka at LB he was constantly coming infield rather than staying on the touchline.

We are not working hard enough in possession. We press hard for the ball when we lose possession - but are static in possession. Bellingham is very guilty of this. He had another very poor game last night other than the quality goal.

I always record the games and skim through the boring stuff later. Like I say, I started watch the game live but I was shouting at the TV till I couldn't stand to watch the rubbish anymore.

Surely they know that they should be trying to find space upfield to maybe be in a position to receive a pass?

Branthwaite might be less experienced than Stones and Guehi but I'm sure he would have more life in him than them two.

The manager needs to go after the tournament, he comes across like there's no bite in him. Someone with some fire in them like Fergurson had would be better.

The bottom line though is most of the players are over-rated, the media keep showing you the best bits of them and leaving out 95% of their play.

I haven't watched Stones much in recent years and I am sure most of his play is very good but, when he has the ball half-way up the pitch and he constantly slowly passes the ball from side to side or behind him, it completely nulls the team as an attacking threat.

For a large part of last night's match when we were a goal behind, he continued to play that way.

He should be running with the ball forwards and looking to release it. This unsettles the opposition and creates openings.

Just an observation but it's just frustrating to watch and the forwards must feel the same way.
