That's Football 101 and I can't believe that we never had that for the 6 years since Lukaku was sold, for fuck's sake!

I hope we can be lucky with injuries to key players. The squad concerns me and, in the last few days, we have lost Iwobi, Gray, Maupay and Cannon. Out of those 4 players, we had to take the money for Iwobi and Gray but I would have kept Maupay and only sent Cannon out on loan.
It would have been interesting to see Maupay as a sub playing with Beto. In the defence we only have 2 decent centre-backs left and after letting Mina, Coady and Holgate leave we should have brought one in.

I get the point you're trying to make but six-pointers are over-rated in my view. I recall a few years back Derby came thrashing Liverpool in late season on their way to being relegated. I also recall in recent seasons the likes of Norwich, Sheffield Utd etc embarrassing us on their way down. Meanwhile, we've beaten Arsenal at home 3 years in a row and we seem to have a hoodoo over Chelsea.
If you look at squads on paper, we are stronger than the promoted three, and I would say also Palace and Wolves. Probably comparable with Bournemouth, Fulham and Forest. But what's more important is points gained over 38 matches against all comers.

I feel if we can avoid bad luck with injuries (I won't hold my breath) we should be finishing mid-table.
Beto, supported by Danjuma, McNeil and Harrison gives me massive optimism of being able to score more than we let in. UTFT
