Season › 2023-24 › News Everton pay tribute to Michael Jones at Bramley-Moore Dock 18/08/2023 2comments | Jump to last An Everton delegation visited the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock today to lay flowers in the memory of Michael Jones who tragically lost his life following an accident on the construction site this week. A lifelong Blue from Kirkby, who attended games home and away, Andrew was said to be thrilled by the opportunity to work on building Everton's new home. He was just 26. Sean Dyche together with Everton Ambassadors Graham Stuart and Ian Snodin all paid their respects. The trio each laid floral bouquets with a hand-written message to the growing tributes for the 26-year-old Evertonian, who tragically lost his life this week while working on the stadium build. Article continues below video content A message on the official site reads: "The thoughts of everyone connected with the Club remain with Michael’s family, friends and colleagues. "Michael Jones. Forever in our hearts." Fans of both Aston Villa and Everton are expected to break into applause during the 26th minute of Sunday's clash between the two clubs at Villa Park. During the Man City game I heard a smattering of applause in the stadium, but the commentators didn't mention why it had broken out, it was just shy of the 26th minute, and it may not have been anything to do with the tragic events of the past week.
