Billy Crellin, Everton's reserve keeper behind Joao Virginia, has signed a new 2-year contract with the club, extending his original agreement by 1-year.
Crellin was in action against Doncaster Rovers last night for Everton U21s in the EFL Trophy, and made a number of impressive saves both before and after he was finally beaten.
The 23-year-old lifelong Evertonian, who has been at Everton since joining from Fleetwood Town in January 2022 and now trains with the first team, said, “It was a dream when I was a kid and coming to watch Premier League games here, so I’m just living a childhood dream.
“I’ve loved every minute at Everton. Training with Jordan, Loners [Andy Lonergan], Joao [Virginia] this year, and Bego [Asmir Begovic] last year; I’ve developed a lot as a keeper. I’m miles better than I was 18 months ago.
“I’ve picked up little things off Jordan, Asmir, and Loners because they’ve played so many games between them. I’ve developed in every area, with those one per cents that make you better.
“I pick up a lot of things off Jordan and watch how he handles certain situations, which hopefully, one day I’ll be in, and I’ll know what to do. I speak to him all the time about little things and he’s helpful.”

I guess he might just fall in a gap between the U21s and the first-team, and gets used as a first-team punching bag in training, but don't you need a minimum number of competitive games to hone your sharpness? And to stay match-sharp?
I can't imagine how you can do that on an average of less than 1 game every other month. And yes, the U21s are barely competitive, from what I've seen on the lousy club stream.

It seems like an awful lot for a club who need a bailout just to pay the current monthly operating costs.

The silence is deafening and embarrassing. They always roll out some kid who no-one rates giving them pro contracts, and it's just to cover the crap that's happening.
I'm sick of this club, I really am. I've said it before and I'm saying it again, if we are either still in the Premier League next season or still in existence as going concern, I'll be surprised.

Closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2023 and remains subject to regulatory approval, including from the Premier League, the Football Association, and the Financial Conduct Authority. Out of respect for this process, 777 Partners will not be providing any further comment during this period of regulatory review.

I don't know about him.
I think I heard earlier that United took 4 keepers to Műnchen with them tonight.
Interesting but why do we refer to them as Bayern Munich?
The linguistic OCD in me suggests in German it's Bayern Műnchen. The full English translation would see them referred to as Bavaria Munich.

six goalies in the younger age bracket, we are well off it seems.
If the official Everton website is accurate, we have 11 keepers on the books, including all age brackets
J Pickford
J Virginia
A Lonergan
B Crellin
J Barrett
D Graham
F Barnsley
S Jennen
G Pickford
and two players out on loan; H Tyrer, Z Leban
Surely that can't be right?

Are we planning on have 9 goalkeepers on the bench, perhaps Dyche is planning an 11 - 0 - 0 system?

One point out of a possible 15!!! It's so bad, we may skip the Championship, and drop straight down to Division 1!
The present demise, which has existed for many seasons, has now infected the players. They have forgotten how to play football; passing correctly is a rarity, tackling has disappeared from their vocabulary, and playing with team spirit is another language.
Week in week out, we witness the descent into the ultimate oblivion... but hey ho. we have signed a third choice goalkeeper!
