Season › 2024-25 › General Forum Pickford dropped for Finland encounter 13/10/2024 20 Comments [Jump to last] Jordan Pickford was dropped by Lee Carsley among six changes the interim England manager made after Thursday's emabarrassing home defeat to Greece. Pickford was replaced by Dean Hendersson for the League of Nations Group B2 game against Finland in Helsinki, but he could not stop a near-post header from a corner in reply to England's three-goal lead that would win the game for the Three Lions. Brian Williams 2 Posted 13/10/2024 at 17:01:17 Ooh Cole Palmer didn't sing the national anthem. Wonder whether the media will have a field day and make a mountain out of a mole hill for that? Andrew Merrick 3 Posted 13/10/2024 at 17:20:11 Jack's the lad, much better this. Steve Brown 4 Posted 13/10/2024 at 17:51:47 Cole Palmer didnt sing the national anthem? The Daily Racist is going to lose its shit. Paul Ferry 5 Posted 13/10/2024 at 17:53:53 I've been listening on 5live since minute 21 and Kane has not been mentioned once. Danny O'Neill 6 Posted 13/10/2024 at 17:59:01 I'm watching it. Is it me or does that pitch look lumpy? Down what was England's right side, it looked like my garden when I haven't cut the grass. Paul Ferry 7 Posted 13/10/2024 at 18:27:47 Jeez this game is boring. How, with that talent up front? Watkins for Kane. Thank Sheeds. Paul Ferry 8 Posted 13/10/2024 at 18:34:48 Poxy free kick that. Lucky. Wall was shite. Goalie should have done btter. Paul Ferry 9 Posted 13/10/2024 at 18:44:25 Watkins has made a difference, again. Paul Ferry 10 Posted 15/10/2024 at 19:21:03 Tuchel, new England gaffer, the German bombers lads will be unhappy. Eddie Dunn 11 Posted 15/10/2024 at 19:34:38 This will have an effect on our future. Eddie Howe will be sacked by the end of the season and will be on a shortlist for us. Kunal Desai 12 Posted 15/10/2024 at 19:55:08 Disappointing Tuchel has chosen to manage England as I would have liked him as our new manager going into BMD. Derek Knox 13 Posted 15/10/2024 at 20:01:32 Paul F "Tuchel, new England gaffer, the German bombers lads will be unhappy."Wouldn't mind wagering he won't be buying a house in Lancaster or Wellington! Don't mention the war, Gotten Himmel! Tony Abrahams 14 Posted 15/10/2024 at 20:05:03 A very interesting appointment. Dennis Stevens 15 Posted 15/10/2024 at 20:34:10 I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it, Derek Derek Knox 16 Posted 15/10/2024 at 20:41:12 Dennis, You may think you have, but I have been vatching you closely ! :-) Danny O'Neill 17 Posted 16/10/2024 at 06:52:29 I see Issac Price bagged a hat-trick for Northern Ireland last night. Seems he went to Liege to further his career and is doing well. Those who follow the U21s more closely my be able to comment more. Tony Abrahams 18 Posted 16/10/2024 at 14:28:37 That's brilliant for the kid, that Danny, mate. To many young footballers play under 21 football, for way too long imo, simply because once you reach a certain point football becomes a man's game. Well done, Isaac. I remember being at Finch Farm and Martin Waldron said to me "Watch this kid here because he will definitely play for England, one day." He might have decided to take an easier international route by playing for Northern Ireland but nobody can take scoring an international hat-trick away from the kid.And I suppose Waldron deserves some credit for picking out an international footballer when Price was around 10 years of age! Steve Brown 19 Posted 16/10/2024 at 14:47:26 Tuchel the new England manager!I blame it on Starmer, or at least I am sure the Daily Mail will. They will hate this appointment - they are already taking about a ‘backlash', ‘ we don't need Tuchel, we need a patriot', ‘Tuchel was a DISASTER.' My personal favourite is “There are countless top-class English coaches but our breathtaking snobbery towards our own managers is blocking them.” Who exactly are they talking about? !That is why I am 100% behind Tuchel. If he upsets the bigots by being German, I am all for him. Danny O'Neill 20 Posted 16/10/2024 at 15:19:00 Born in Yorkshire, he qualified for England but through family, he had Northern Irish links Tony. He also has German links.Steve, my Chelsea supporting cousin, who grew up in Battersea is livid at Tuchel as England manager, even though he delivered them the Champions League.I'm going to watch Chelsea in a gentleman's club next week before he takes me for a "ruby murray". He speaks proper cockney rhyming slang. Not that it bothers me too much, but let's see how Tuchel goes. He's a feisty character and I would imagine the English press are already sharpening the knives.
