Season › 2024-25 › Opinion › Talking Points Broke-ing News? by Chris James | 13/01/2025 3 Comments [Jump to last] Sky's dramatic 'Breaking News' report: The Premier League will issue disciplinary charges tomorrow against any clubs who have broken financial rules for the 2021-24 reporting period, some obvious questions arise: 1. How will they explain Chelsea and Man Utd skirting the rules... again? 2. What new excuse will there be for not announcing sanctions against Man City's 115 breaches? And ultimately... 3. How many points will Everton lose in the random point deduction machine this time round? Article continues below video content In all seriousness though, does anyone else have the strong feeling we'll be getting 'done' again? And if so, could this perhaps explain the slightly odd timing of the Dyche > Moyes move? Give the new manager something to galvanise the team against and/or distract from potential fan backlash re the Moyesiah's Second Coming? (Not from me by the way, I think it's a smart move.)
