Wolves U21s 4 - 2 Everton U21s

Everton U21s were well beaten at the Aggborough Stadium on Friday night when taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League 2.

Nathan Patterson featured again, playing at right-back in place of Roman Dixon,  as he builds up his match fitness after being sidelined for most of the past 6 months.

The Young Blues fell behind after 20 minutes, Leban unable to stop a header. And they went further behind after Patterson gave away a dangerous free-kick which was far too easily converted.

Things didn't improve in the second half when Wolves increased their lead inside 30 seconds – another shocking goal to give up!  And Jack Butler lasted just 3 minutes as a second-half sub.

After an unstoppable fourth goal, Everton finally hit back through Charlie Whitaker who also grabbed a second consolation at the death.

Everton U21s: Leban, N Patterson [Y:23'], Heath, Samuels-Smith, Tierney, Thomas (46' Butler (51' Barker)), Beaumont-Clark, Butterfield [Y:16'], Benjamin (88' Morgan), Bates (79' J Patterson), Whitaker.

Subs not Used: Barnsley.

Michael I know you’re not a mind reader but you know what I would say about the viewing of this game I mean the non viewing.

Once again, the Official Site is shit – I cannot stream… click on nothing?

I cannot wait to take my seat at Bramley-Moore Dock and sink into the sand…

Yeah, Dave… I'm watching it now.

Didn't even have to log in — Spongebob Dixie remembered exactly who I was and ushered me straight to the video stream.

What can I say?

Michael (3),

How did you get to (3) when only the two of us have posted?

Anyway with the score 2-0 for Wolves you know what I'm going to say now don't you?

Yes you got it in one: “I'm glad I'm not watching it”.

2-0 down Dave, after 36 minutes.

Took me about 10 seconds to log in and watch it.

Nathan Patterson playing at right back instead of Roman Dixon. Does this mean Dixon will be playing right back against the Skunk Maggots tomorrow?

Don, try logging on…….it works wonders!

Exactly what I was thinking and hoping, Rob. But more likely he'll be kicking his heels on the bench.

The missing post @2 was in limbo, Dave, as Don struggles to express himself sometimes — but I think you can identify with where he's coming from.

Is he one of your drinking buddies?

Michael, I actually find it quite amusing when people moan about the fact that they cannot connect to a live streaming, usually blaming it on the club when in fact it’s their own incompetence that they cannot connect to a live stream. 😄😄😄

Half-time: OOoooo... BMD. Sand is looking good, Don.

I see all the seats are blue — no white ones picking out pithy truisms like "EFC", "Royal Blue Mersey", "Bill woz 'ere"…

Exactly, Michael!

After all, you couldn't possibly call some of your members incompetent, and then having to ban yourself!

Anyway, I’m now watching Sunderland v Leeds. Sunderland leading 1-0. Would love to see them come up and the Skunk Maggots go down!

Leeds equalise, but would have been given offside had VAR been in use.

4-2 v Wolves?

And some on here want them in the 1st XI.

Ashley Young at right-back tomorrow.

Phil, who wants who from the U21s playing tonight, in the starting eleven tomorrow?

The only one remotely having any chance of starting tomorrow is Roman Dixon, and seeing as he is not even in the U21 squad playing tonight, makes your comment rather futile.

No Rob, not tomorrow but last week, next week, after the international break.

Are any of them up to standard?

Rob Halligan
23 Posted 04/10/2024 at 22:13:56
Well Phil, I think Roman Dixon showed he's upto standard, following his impressive display down at Spurs a few weeks ago.

Granted, he wasn't in the U21 squad tonight, but he, out of all the U21 squad, is definitely worth taking a chance on.

Two more goals for Charlie Whittaker was one thing to take from that game which I couldn't log onto, maybe my fault because I'm useless at technology but not sure about that last night.

Rob (21). What did you think of Omari Benjamin? He looked okay to me in previous glimpses when I saw him.
