Wolves U21s 4 - 2 Everton U21s
Everton U21s were well beaten at the Aggborough Stadium on Friday night when taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League 2.
Nathan Patterson featured again, playing at right-back in place of Roman Dixon, as he builds up his match fitness after being sidelined for most of the past 6 months.
The Young Blues fell behind after 20 minutes, Leban unable to stop a header. And they went further behind after Patterson gave away a dangerous free-kick which was far too easily converted.
Things didn't improve in the second half when Wolves increased their lead inside 30 seconds – another shocking goal to give up! And Jack Butler lasted just 3 minutes as a second-half sub.
After an unstoppable fourth goal, Everton finally hit back through Charlie Whitaker who also grabbed a second consolation at the death.
Everton U21s: Leban, N Patterson [Y:23'], Heath, Samuels-Smith, Tierney, Thomas (46' Butler (51' Barker)), Beaumont-Clark, Butterfield [Y:16'], Benjamin (88' Morgan), Bates (79' J Patterson), Whitaker.
Subs not Used: Barnsley.

I cannot wait to take my seat at Bramley-Moore Dock and sink into the sand…

Didn't even have to log in — Spongebob Dixie remembered exactly who I was and ushered me straight to the video stream.
What can I say?

How did you get to (3) when only the two of us have posted?
Anyway with the score 2-0 for Wolves you know what I'm going to say now don't you?
Yes you got it in one: “I'm glad I'm not watching it”.

Took me about 10 seconds to log in and watch it.

The missing post @2 was in limbo, Dave, as Don struggles to express himself sometimes — but I think you can identify with where he's coming from.
Is he one of your drinking buddies?

I see all the seats are blue — no white ones picking out pithy truisms like "EFC", "Royal Blue Mersey", "Bill woz 'ere"…

You may think that… I couldn't possibly comment!

You're not alone. 😉

After all, you couldn't possibly call some of your members incompetent, and then having to ban yourself!

And some on here want them in the 1st XI.
Ashley Young at right-back tomorrow.
21 Posted 04/10/2024 at 20:36:15
The only one remotely having any chance of starting tomorrow is Roman Dixon, and seeing as he is not even in the U21 squad playing tonight, makes your comment rather futile.
22 Posted 04/10/2024 at 21:58:41
Are any of them up to standard?
23 Posted 04/10/2024 at 22:13:56
Granted, he wasn't in the U21 squad tonight, but he, out of all the U21 squad, is definitely worth taking a chance on.

Rob (21). What did you think of Omari Benjamin? He looked okay to me in previous glimpses when I saw him.
