Bala Town have announced the signing of former Wales U19 midfielder Liam Higgins after he left Everton Academy.

Liam Higgins joined the Everton Academy in December 2017 from Mold Alexander FC at the age of just 15. He came to prominence for Everton Under-18s, having a good season in 2020-21 until halted by a serious hamstring injury.

He found it much harder to get regular games for the U21s in subsequent seasons but Everton still gave him 1-year contract extensions in June 2022 and May 2023 despite challenging issues with injuries.

Everton allowed Higgins to remain with the club after his contract expired in June 2024, helping him toward a full recovery before finding another club.

Well done to Everton FC for giving Liam two years to try and recuperate from his injury then helping him to get a full recovery and find another club which may start his career moving up the leagues. He had the talent; now he needs some good luck to go with it.

Best wishes, Liam, on your climb back.

Well done Everton, as Dave says, in supporting the lad.

Good luck, Liam.
