New dimension...

I'm as angry as other fellow evertonians following that performance of utter rubbish, however we can all mouth off about tactics, or sack moyes sack the players etc etc, but that's not going to get us anywhere is it.

After watching that performance a couple of times (I know it dosnt get any better no matter how many times watch it) we are lacking movement off the ball, fast one touch passing and a serious lack of pace, I would like to suggest Everton FC and David Moyes invest this summer on a top notch attacking coach, his job will be nothing but working with the players on the offensive side of our game which never seems to improve year-in, year-out when we meet the big boys hence our terrible record.

A number of top teams have a specialized coach at there club, we however have a great orgainizer and a great defensive coach in moyes and round, now if we manage to add some much needed craft to the graft we really could compete with the bigboys, as for the pace issue only money can get us out of the one. Sean, forget it. If you watched his interview after the match, Moyes clearly thinks everything in the garden is fine and dandy.

And why spend money paying an attacking coach when you can buy a clapped out centre back; a Utd reject full back, or, even better, a Long John Silver parody who might not actually be able to run but who owns a very amusing parrot. (Of course, the parrot won’t qualify to play in Europe - bought too late - but that won’t matter anyway now.)

Yours is a positive post and I’m sorry to take the piss... but at £67,500 per week, perhaps we could expect Moyes himself to be able to distinguish between the opposiion’s net and our own.

In the cold light of day and after watching and re-watching all of the main incidents from yesterday's shite, there are a few points still to be made and a few observations.

Sean, your point about not having a clue up front is a valid one and one that must worry Moyes. The Yak is not anywhere near the player that he was and needs more time on the pitch to gain more confidence; Louis Saha is not doing enough for me and his movement seems half hearted but they both need to be supplied with the right service and that was lacking yesterday. We didn't get the ball wide enough and we never moved it quick enough letting their players get back at us.

The main talking points from yesterday for me are.
1) Should Pianeer have seen red for his tackle in the first half? Yes, he should — he was high and dangerous.
2) Should the big Fella have seen red? No, I don't think he stamped on the guy and there was no intent in my view.
3) Why can't the press and all red shite supporters see what the whole of the rest of the world can? Steven Gerrard is a cheating twat that should get banned for diving and unsportsman's like behaviour; if it was anybody else, it would be all over the press but he gets away with it time and time again.
4) A positive point in a way, we tried to play football yesterday; they tried to kick us off the park. The better teams try to keep playing and yesterday that was us; yes, we where bullied... but isn't that what we have done to them in the past?

We are moving forward under Moyes and will continue to do so. Never lose faith: IMWT.

Peter, could I take issue with points 2 and 4. Utter claptrap.

Hope that helps.

Fellaini should have been red-carded... and Sean, I doubt whether Moyes could even spell "Attack" or know the meaning of it.

I confess to concluding Moyes has gone as far as he can at Everton and after this seasons performances, particularly yesterdays, for his own sake and the clubs he should move on.

Beyond Ferguson and Wenger and perhaps Hodgson I’m struggling to identify anyone from the prem who , if by magic we could attract could make a positive difference to our club.

Always thought O’Neill’s rep bigger than his actual ability, Redknapp as he’s aged seems to have improved but always carrys the whiff of trouble, Ancelloti and Mancini too early to tell can’t help feeling without money they’d struggle.

Allardyce, Bruce, Pulis, Brown, McCleish, Laws, McCarthy cut of the same Moyes cloth and Coyle, Zola and Martinez work in progress leaving the chuckle brothers Benitez and Grant both slightly weird.

Any ideas or is Moyes untouchable because there’s no alternative, like Destination Kirkby.

Sean, a really good post and a view I share, its a pity others have veered off the tracks here. We seemed to have gone through a succession of decent strikers and we never seem to have formula to bring out the best in them. It’s fair to say its rarely been the fault of the front men rather the service into the box. We often lack width in our play and down the right side its not a case of lacking width but no width at all. What is worrying is that Moyes appears oblivious to this. A helping hand would go a long way.

I think it’s a mindset thing ie defend as a team attack as a pair ie Saha & Cahill.
To get anything this season we need 3 points per game not 1 but 3, if we won 3 games and lost 3 our points tally would be 9, if we drew all 6 we would have 6 points if we lost 4 and won 2 it would be 6.
We’re probably safe from relegation we dont have much to lose i say we go for it till the end of the season. If you look at the Arsenal match we played attacking football because we only had the players for 4-4-2 , and we should have won that 1.

To compound our attacking problems, I read that Vaughan is going out on loan with a view to a sale in the summer. Maybe it’s a good thing but with the Yak a long way off his former self and Saha looking less than interested I’m fearful for the future.

As I posted elsewhere last night, I think all our forwards are lacking. If Louis is crocked then all we’ve got is the Yak who palpably can’t be arsed, Vic who is very much a work in slow progress and young Jim, who at least can run a bit. If anyone has to move on to learn his trade it should be Big Vic. Sending Vaughn off to Derby or whoever limits our bench options even further.

First of all, I don’t think we are improving at all...

For me the performance against City at Goodison was a complete one-off, Moyes had got the players fired up because of the Lescott transfer saga (funny how he can get them motivated and fired up for a game which I wouldn’t of minded losing, but he can’t get them fired up for the most important game on our calendar!)

The Arsenal performance at the Emirates, was typical Everton, we had a big chance to beat one of the top boys yet we sit back, don’t take our chances (Vaughan) and allow them to break us down.

Dare I say it, I think even Walter Smith’s Everton team would of come away with at least a point at Anfield on Saturday - this team under Moyes has got one or two areas in which we raise eyebrows (occasionally) everywhere else, sometimes it’s appaling.

Distin? Why sign a defender from a club that is bottom of the Premier League, doesn’t that tell you everything you need to know?

Heitinga, forgive me if I’m wrong, isn’t he ineligible to play in Europe for us, I mean what the fuck?!

Yakubu - to put it simply, overweight, touch of a rapist and couldn’t give a fuck.

Anichebe - see above.

Phil Neville - really? he should be coaching at a First Division club by now.

I’m sorry but we haven’t moved on, and we never will under Moyes, his attitude toward games against the big boys is pathetic.
