El Hamdaoui set for La Viola

28/01/2012 | Comments (7)
Another hotly-reported transfer target of David Moyes is heading elsewhere with reports in Italy suggesting that Mounir El Hamdaoui is to undergo a medical at Fiorentina this weekend ahead of sealing a switch to Serie A from Ajax in Holland.

The 27 year-old had an unproductive spell with Tottenham a few years ago but excelled at AZ Alkmaar and was named Dutch footballer of the year in 2008-09.

He is out of favour at Ajax now, though, and was strongly linked with Everton this month but now seems destined for La Viola.

Which player is going to be sold on deadline day, for football reasons, with no chance of replacements to come in? Jags and Rodwell are injured, hope it's not Baines then!

Have no fear, we are being linked this morning with Kevin Doyle. Have we sunk so low as to want a guy who can't get a game for Wolves, and who has scored 2 goals all season. He'd fit right in at Goodison with that record. But he works hard and runs the channels, so he's a Moyes type player. Can Moyes not understand we need strikers who SCORE GOALS. I'd rather us buy a striker from a lower level who has scored prolifically, rather than a PL struggler.

Like you said Errol#619, Doyle fits the Moyes profile-another Marcus Bent, runs all day, works tirelessly, but strangely enought, I wouldn't mind him. But I'm betting that it'll be another last minute- player from Bolivia's 2nd division, if anyone

I like Doyle and think he would fit in well, I'm still convinced we can get more out of Saha and they could form a good partnership.

Doyle is an intelligent, mobile, workaholic.. Ideal for the one up front system.

I hope you'll be man enough to come on here and prove you were wrong after these prattish comments..
