If hes not a target man, then I would take him. We have four target men as strikers at the moment, far too many!
Just had a look at him on Youtube (which can make an average player look like Maradona). He is playing against pretty poor players, but he looks like he's got a nice touch, very fast and importantly for the Premier League, he looks strong (he's about 6ft). It says he's a striker, but from the footage he looks more like a winger, the position we need to fill most.
Possibly worth a gamble, surely he wouldn't cost much coming from Lillestrom.

Sounds worth a try-out at least! Got to be worth doing with the said state of Everton at the minute!
Bjørn Bergman Sigurdason..Well, he has been hailed as tippeligaens (The norwegian league) best player so far this term, BUT he is no goalscorer.
The pundits say that he has the potential of Zlatan (albeeit a completely different type of player). If he resembles anybody in the EPL I would say a young drogba, maybe James Beattie before he joined Everton.
He is strong, fast, and has tons of will and power in his movements. So far though, he has shown a lack of finishing. Maybe he could work like a kind of 10, as tiny tims tenure at our club draws to a close..he`ll be cheap anyway.
I say..buy him come june:)

AS I follow TIppeligaen I have to say SIgurdson is not good enough for us.
Would Rather we got Moa from Hannover 96 in Germany.
Compared to him Sigurdson is just average.
Overall the level of Tippeliga is quite poor, and to buy any player from there is a long term project at best!
WE already have Vellios who has the best chance convertion of all our strikers this season, (Anichebe is being used as a right midfielder so he does not count).
Vellios is also young and already has more experience then Sigurdson.
No need to buy Sigurdson in my mind.

Njal do you know much about Henriksen of Rosenborg and Jenssen of Tromso
Or Jimmy if you know about these players.
Are we just pulling random names out of nowhere, now? I'd rather we signed Messi from Barcelona - compared to him Sigurdarson is just average!

Well, if we're going down that route...he's fucking lethal on Fifa 12. Still not as good as his strike partner 'Fat Takeawayboy' though.

..because there's such a fine line between the two.

What's he like at defending corners?
Paul: Markus Henriksen is the attacking midfielder from Rosenborg. He is a vital part of the build up-play, and is also in contenstion for the national team. He has a good shot from outside the box aswell.
The problem with him is perhaps the price. He is regarded as one of the most promising midfielders in the country, and, playing for the dynastic rosenborg side, he would not be sold for less then maybe 2-3 mill.
Ruben Yttergård Jenssen is a somewhat similar type. 23 years old, and one of the most important players for the runner ups last season, Tromsø.
Tromsø is a "selling club" as it struggles with finance, so..why not?
It is also uncertain wether he would flourish in the EPL. Its a far step from tippeligaen.

Thank you Njal.I have heard good things about them and at that price is doesnt sound like too much of a gamble.

Sadly Paul, when £2-3m is likely to be your entire budget (if you're lucky) then 2 relatively unknown and untried players in this country are just that.
Like this thinking outside of the box though !

I am hoping Moyes will be having a clear out in the summer to raise money; if he doesn't, he is a fool. The two Norwegian lads' wages would also be a fraction of Cahill's.

He's scored something like 10 gls in 60 matches. And this is in a league with far worse defenders than that of the PL. Worse in the meaning less quality in all aspects of the game. The Tippeligaen do produce some quality players, usually defenders.
I would rate Bjørn Sigurdsson below all of our attackers and can't see what Everton could gain with him on the team.
I wish we could get Steven Pieenar. And a right back. And perhaps a left sided defender. And a winger of high quality.
I do not see the need for any more attackers, and it looks to me mr Jelavic is a true goalgetter and a bargain for us.
No need to go for a half-decent player from a league with mostly poor players.

Really poor scoring record at that level. If we're buying a forward from a Scandinavian league I'd expect him to be close to a goal a game, not one in six.
As a supporter of both Everton and Sigurdarsons current club, I am surprised sone of the comments from my fellow Norwegians, and in ny opinion, Thomas is exactly the type of player Everton should be after.
He is not a traditional striker, and might never be a top goalscorer - personally I would compare him with Eidur Gudjohnsen, but with more pace and strength. He is by far the most talented player Norway, and several pundits all ready see him as the best player in the Norwegian league at 21. Yes, it's crappy league, but so is the SPL, and Jelavic isn't doing too bad, is he?

I fully agree with lars. He's worth the gamble.
I have to admit, to my fellow norwegians here, I don't care much for Lillestrøm. I reckon they are the "dark side".
I can't believe though, that you place him up with Eidur Gudjonsson.
Where do you see Sigurdsson play, then? In the Cahill role? That's the only place I would use him. If I had to.

I have my doubts ... Will he be able to raise the level at Everton? well I'm not sure. But he can be a good gamble? sure. Depends on the price and wage. I think we can find better options elsewhere.
Bjorn Helge Rise (Lillestørm) was described as one of the best in Norwegian TL and we all know what his contribution to the PL was. Absolutely nothing.

After seeing the last few games, he has scored some goals, yes... but I cannot see that he will raise the level of Everton, he is barely enough a "gamble". See other places!
