Takeover?

There is a certain amount of talk of Everton being bought by a Mega Rich Chinese organisation. Any truth in this or just more rubbish?

I believe a consortium led by Chinese billionaire Ly Ying Twat is coming in with a serious bid.

James, good one.
Unrelated, but just saw this headline "Standard Chartered Accused of Hiding Transactions With Iranians." I knew based on their shirt sponsorship association they were evil!

This was mentioned in the 'live matchday forum' on here during the Blackpool game, someone had a link? evertonrumours.something?
Tom Rowe
090 Posted 06/08/2012 at 21:37:47
I saw the link and there was no evidence of anything. Just someones mate who text him and said his Nan was the cleaner who overheard or some ridiculous load of crap like that. Load of bollocks I'm afraid.
Lyndon Lloyd

There was almost enough momentum on Twitter over the weekend to merit a Rumour Mill piece on this but not quite.

For what it's worth (i.e. a pinch of salt), the rumour suggested investment as opposed to a full takeover and the spreader of said rumour said it came from the same source that first mentioned to him/her the purchase of Forest.

All bollocks but hopefully not the precursor to a player sale as these investment rumours always seem to come around when there's bad news.

Sorry boys but the chinese have withdrawn their interest in buying EFC once Bill had stated his price and terms for the "sale" of the club. His terms were politely declined by the chinese consortiums' chief negotiator Fook Yu.

I don't mind bullshit rumours...it might stimulate my subconscious, and give me a wonderful dream tonight...Everton, now the richest club in the world, gazzump Arsenal for Cazorla, and add Debuchy, Lewandowski, Damiao and Moutinho to the squad before the end of the transfer window...

Blue Bill has been speaking with a Chinese/German consortium looking to invest, the source of the investment was revealed on Twitter today, apparently the money is Wing Fenscht.. Believe it when I see it.

Lot of stuff going about and I have been told there is serious interest from a Chinese consortium or business man in investing in us. I've also heard it's bollocks and nothing in it?!?

So I'll go with form and believe it's bullshit!

Gav - whilst we can all agree that this is a rumour, fact is it seems to have been started by someone on twitter. As such, I don't think we can yet blame Kenwright for this particular rumour can we?

Andrew Ellams
169 Posted 07/08/2012 at 12:12:55
To be fair, whilst I'm not expecting anything to come out of this, the rumours are suggesting a significant investment and not an outright takeover so Kenwright would probably keep his place as Chairman at the very least and probably still be the major shareholder.
Scott Hamilton
170 Posted 07/08/2012 at 12:11:49
Apparently they actually want to buy and redevelop "Lucky's Blue Dragon" takeaway on Goodison Road but Bill is trying to throw the Club into the overall deal...

A Guy who does some work (dentman) for me, used to do some scouting (under-14s) a few years ago, for Everton. He told me this morning, via someone still connected to club, that there is something in the air... Apparently the finger is pointing to 'people' closer to home than China, who have had enough of him, but had heard of a Chinese connection/enquiry on an investment angle.

Has been a reliable source in the past, regarding players like Vaughan, Baxter and Barkley coming to prominence long before they became more noticed...

Never know.

Chris Regan
189 Posted 07/08/2012 at 14:47:20
Tom, Don't taking your source on face value. Who is the 'Him', they have had enough of? Is it Kenwright?
Neal Kernohan

I believe the takeover is from Hoo Flung Dung.
Erik Dols
192 Posted 07/08/2012 at 15:01:37
Chris #189 obiously the 'Him', they have had enough of, is Hibbert.
Tom Dodds
194 Posted 07/08/2012 at 14:56:12
Chris (#189) — Kenwright. By the way, I was also given the 'SP' on some of the reserves: Barkley, McAleny, Baxter... apparantley they are unmitigated spoilt bastards who've already had their heads turned á la Rooney, with the "must go to bigger/better/monied clubs" shit.

And Barkley (so it goes) wanted to play for Arsenal, which is why Moyes told him to fuck off specifically till April... Not that I condone such spoilt/traiterous/ungratefull spoutings, but people (younger) should really recognise that the present Champions League really is akin to the mercenary (moneywise) as organised crime!

So, if we are going for it, the only way up (right up) is mo' money!

I heard the full consortium is:

Sum Ting Wong, Hu Yu Hai Ding, Dum Gai, Ai Bang Mai Ni, Chin Tu Fat, No Pah King, Wa Shing Ka and Yu Stin Ki Pu.

Have fun working out these names!

Whats the score with the Chinese investment in Inter just recently?. I heard the Chinese bought in and picked up the contract to build them a new stadium?. Wonder if the Chinese have thought we have the brass to build a new ground and are thinking to repeat the manoeuvre. How wong could they be eh?!

I think it was Saturday/Sunday that twitter was exploding with these rumours. They originally came from a guy you uses the twitter name of 'fbloke' who is a City fan. At first I thought it was a wind up, but then the normally reliable 'Fourth Official' twitter account (who are Everton Fans) backed the guy up and mentioned that he has the first to bring the news about the Forest takeover.

As most have said its probably bollocks, but interesting that it was investment not takeover. Plus it was hinted that the investment involved building development, which is normally associated with Chinese involvement in projects. So I'm thinking Goodison is going to look like the Birds Nest if the rumours are true.

Tom Dodds, one of things I've been holding onto was a statement made by Ian Ross in the leaked emails, something along the lines of: "When the rebellion comes, it will come from within". Christ knows what shape and form that would take, the mind boggles.

I'm not waiting on John Woods on breaking cover though!!

Chris Regan
317 Posted 08/08/2012 at 09:42:19
Bobby - 316, I remember that statement. Having two Tottenham fans on the board and the massively inert Woods meant I just couldn't see what he was on about.

Perhaps he thought Kenwright would grow a set and kick him and Elstone out or they could add chicken soup to the vending machine.

Anyway, even if investors buy onto the board, I won't get excited.

Probably just more smoke and mirror from Bullshit Billy and his Board of Gons....all to distract us from the fact that the only signings we've made are a player who was already with us and an injury prone journeyman who we got for free from a club facing liquidation...

Another typical pre-season under Billy Liar...!!

I would have a guess this means a player will be sold in the next week or so.

After all is said and done what with the hordes of interested parties Bill has knocking at his door, law of averages tells you it is only a matter of time.

Pete 468

I know people have Bill in the cross hairs but I imagine the joyous bastardisation of Chinese names and terminology won't figure in any sales prospectus.

I'm the world's worst for ripping the piss but given how desperate we are I'm erring on the side of caution with this one.
