How will we start the season?

I was having a few pints with some good Blues a couple of weeks ago, and a question was posed:

"How many points will we have after 6 games, and what will our position be after those 6 games?"

I went for 6 points and 17th – what are fellow posters' predictions?

Its too difficult to guess game by game with Everton so I'm going to say 9-11 points. I know that's hardly sticking my neck out, but its what I reckon.

Less than 9 I'll be very unhappy, more than 11 I'll be very happy. I think our tricky games are mostly spread out this season, and our failure to fly to Indonesia in pre-season may be a big help.

Draws with Man U, Villa and Saints. Wins v WBA, Newcastle, and Swansea. So 12 points and 5th.

I reckon we'll average about 1.5 points a game; 57 points in the season, which should be 6th or thereabouts. So 9 points after 6 games and I'd be happy.

A reasonably decent start should see us finish around 58-60 points, good enough for 7th.

It will take time for the new players to bed in so we have to be patient but I'm feeling optimistic.

I would guess/hope as follows:

H) Man Utd - 1pt
(A) Aston Villa - 1pt
(A) West Brom - 3pts
(H) Newcastle - 3pts
(A) Swansea - 1pt
(H) Southampton - 3pts
