Pienaar's Coach?

 Comments (22) jump to end

Does anyone know what member of the Everton coaching staff Steven Pienaar ran to when he scored his wonder goal at Villa on Saturday?

The other part of the question is, what was written on his shirt that was for Andy Holden's benefit (if it was indeed him)?

Anyone remember the Spike Milligan story?

A vicar leans over a garden wall and tells the owner, "You and God are doing a great job in this garden."

"You should have seen it when he was looking after it by himself", comes the reply.

Rather tangential reference. But I always liked the Tommy wit in response to the WWI Germans' signs above their trench bunker/shelters: Wir hab Gott mit uns (We have God with us). The Brits put above theirs: We've got mittens, too.

There was much joy on the bench.

Except for Johnny who applauded gently while looking miserable... anyone else see that?

Thanks Paul, yes your right it's Tony Sage I always thought he was the kit man, and to a totally unrelated matter Paul do you work with Jamie Dunne, as your name rings a bell.

It was Tony Sage — Everton kit man and also a Everton fanatic.

There is a Tony Sage living here in West Oz in the iron ore biz and worth billions.
This Tony is the sole owner of Perth Glory FC and seems like a decent bloke.

Can this Tony Sage 'stuff' some sense into BK?? Or is it beyond him?

Bobby and John - I am NOT Tony Sage. (Or God.)

I was actually in the crowd behind the dugout, but in Pienaar's rush to celebrate with me (and thank me for my invaluable contribution to his goal) he was rudely intercepted by the club's official backroom staff, who wanted to claim the credit for themselves....

Meanwhile Moysie is waving his arms and mouthing the words "OK, we've got a goal, now all back in defence for 87 minutes" />Check out the footage... http://www.evertonfc.com/evertontv/home/7678
