Everton still in the hunt for Castaignos

11/07/2012 | Comments (3)
According to CNNItalia and Gazzetta dell Sport correspondent, Tancredi Palmeri, representatives from Everton are expected to join those from West Ham, QPR and Fulham in meeting Internazionale director, Marco Branca, to discuss signing striker Luc Castaignos.

Branca will be in London over the next couple of days and the 19-year-old will be on his agenda as he meets with clubs interested in taking the Dutchman off Inter's hands.

Castaignos is reportedly for sale just a year after he moved to Serie A from Feyenoord in his native Holland and Inter are said to prefer a sale rather than a loan deal — if he is to go out on loan, Branca would prefer he stay in Italy.

Update: It was subsequently reported that FC Twente completed the signing of Luc Castaignos on a four-year deal.

Unless Inter want to sell him for a few Pukka Pies in exchange, I'd say there is a fair chance he won't be leaving Inter for us. Offer Hibbo in a straight swap... he could easily replace Maicon.

This would be some coup if it is true. Not long ago he was dubbed the new Henry!

Not long ago Baxter was dubbed the new Rooney, and Michael Owen was the next Michael Branch!
