Dinamo Zagreb could snap up Mucha

Dinamo Zagreb have emerged a possible destination for Jan Mucha who is out of contract at Everton this summer.

The 30 year-old is likely to move on after three frustrating years at Goodison Park as understudy to the virtually ever-present Tim Howard.

The Daily Mail suggest there is also interest from Belgium and Holland for the Slovakian international.

Shame really, those few games he played in for us he looked like a capable keeper. Good luck Jan if you go.

The life of the reserve 'keeper. I almost feel sorry for this multi millionaire who's never had to lift a finger.

Seems a nice character though and I think Jelly will miss him. He deserved to keep his place after a couple of solid displays. His distribution was decent too. He always looks to throw it out unlike Howard who insists on kicking the ball into orbit.

Yeah it is a sham he goes, he is a mucha better alternative than Howard...well Tim is not bad, just Jan is better.

Its a shame Mucha never had another 12 months left on his contract, now Moyes has gone he could have been given a chance and run of games under a new manager......

Have to admit I quite liked him, he seemed to be a capable keeper.....

Just another victim of Moyes stick to who I prefer as a person policy i.e(profesionalism, work rate, attitude etc) rather than just plain old ability and quality....other examples include picking Neville for every game even though he was a ridiculous excuse for a footballer....

Seems like classic 'he must be better because we haven't seen him play much'.

Bjorn, is your post a 100% joke or just some of it? I'm no fan of Howard's but to say Mucha is better than makes little sense.

Mucha looked a lot better than Howard against City when he had his chance. We will never know if he was though. Howard was a Moyes favourite and never dropped despite some of the worst howlers I have ever seen a keeper of ours make.

Shane, it was part joke, part a statement, I must admit I didn't see more than two matches with Mucha, but in those two matches he seemed like he was slightly better than Howard, mostly because Mucha did go out in the field two challenge for the ball, and not stood glued to the goal line like Howard have an tendency to do, I kind a like that in a goalie.

It should say TO challenge, not two.

Why can't we sent Howard to Zagreb instead?

Whoever new manager is, he should make Alex McCarthy of Reading his number 1 transfer target. We already missed out on Jack Butland. Howard gives me fits in goals.

To be fair though....Mucha doesnt need to be at a big club to keep his Slovakias number one jersey....he just needs regular first team football so a move to Belgium or Holland would probably do him....

We SBould give him a new contract — he's a good keeper. He had a good game against Man City. The new manager will have to buy a new backup keeper — he should get the keeper from Stoke but I think Man Utd are looking at him...

Perfectly adequate but not particularly special keeper, who never showed any particular reason why he should displace Tim Howard.

Did pretty much exactly what a backup keeper is supposed to do; not complain, be solid enough on the rare occasions he was called upon (apart from throwing the ball into his own net that time).

Never been any real reason for him to become the starter. Despite a slightly uneasy start to this season, Tim Howard's been largely good for us, and comes in for way too much criticism on this site.

In other transfer news, Moutinho has just signed for Monaco for over £20m. How much was Bill unwilling to stump up all those years ago?

He's going with his team mate who cost close to £40m. Pereira will definitely be off.

Or Nick, Pereira could have 60 big one's to spend if he stays.

To be fair, his contract has run out and if I were him I'd move on too given he's hardly featured in the last 3 years.

At least the new man can look for another keeper and decide if he needs a new No 1 or another reserve keeper.

Another free slot in the wage bill for the new manager.

Good luck to the lad. He's a brave ,intelligent keeper.

Moyes and Woods obviously preferred Howard who seemed in good form till his recent howler. Personally. I hope we trade him for a bigger guy who is able to dominate the area. There's one down the road at Wigan.
