Barry won so many aerial duels, I am wondering if he needs a partner to lay off those headers. It seems there is mostly no blues player close enough and running goalwards to benefit from his headers and so he has no idea in which direction he should direct them.
I have to say I am surprised Everton havent appealed the red card decision, not only did the opposing manager say he didnt think it was a sending off offence, most of the pundits suggested a yellow card would have been sufficient.
Steve @112, The team never stopped trying to be progressive in their passing, especially in the first half. They were definitely on the front foot in that first half. But for a huge portion of the second half, it was primarily a defensive operation, which was executed very well… although for Pickford to make so many good to exceptional saves means an ultimate breakdown in that defensive solidity that could well have seen a gaol. Indeed, the xG guru had us down as having lost that contest, 1.66 vs 0.23. Shows what complete nonsense those stats are if they are saying there was only a 20% chance that Dewsbury-Hall would score with that shot. Actually, it\'s even more ridiculous than that: xG from Open Play was 0.15 for Everton. So the likelihood of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scoring that goal was less than 15%!!! Whereas they want us to believe that each Man Utd shot on target (they had 6) had an average scoring chance of at least 25%. And yet Pickford saved them all. Total touches inside the opposition box: 50 vs 10… just 10 touches in the whole 90 minutes! One of \'em was really good… a match winner!
Thanks for that explanation Kieran. Technically a sending off but for anyone with a brain, (who has played the game to win, at any level) utterly stupid. My son has just started secondary school and life has changed because certain kids, now get a five minute early pass. He’s tried it on saying he suffers from anxiety, but that was only going to work for so long because it doesn’t take long for teachers to get to know you. I said lad, if you let me slap you like Gueye, slapped Keane, I’ll get you an early pass. Will you dad, please dad, I was sorry I opened my bloody mouth!
Me too Paul.
