James Hall was a young Everton Academy player of Filipino and Scottish descent / dual Nationality(?) who briefly became a professional footballer on Everton's books. He joined Everton ahead of the 2005-06 season, but suffered a knee injury that caused him to miss most of that season and most of the next.
He signed a year-long professional contract as a graduate of the famous and world renowned Everton Academy. That was in July 2007, after two tough years recovering from knee problems following damage to his cruciate ligaments. An attacking midfielder and comfortable on the ball, James was no doubt looking to make up for lost time.
Sadly, he never did recover and would fade away from top-flight football. Wikipedia deleted his page in April 2008 although we understand he remained with the club until September 2010 — just a couple of months shy of 7 years at Everton.
He made the bench for four Reserves games in March and April 2007, after coming on half-a-dozen times as a sub for the Academy Under-18 side and made the bench again for a couple of pre-season reserves games plus the first Under-18s match of the season, but was effectively out of action for the 2007-08 season.
After that, it seems injury setbacks were to bedevil Jim Hall's Everton career, which we understand continued through two more seasons, but no indication that he got to play in any games for Everton Reserves. He missed the entire 2008-09 campaign and 2009-10; we understand he was released by the club in September 2010.
