Making his debut at for the Reserves in ___, Paul
Hopkins went through some golden spells of goal-scoring. 2004-05 was a promising season for Paul, with
plenty of goals for the new Under-18 Academy side, and in the Youth Cup
campaign.  The promising striker signed professional terms with
the Toffees in February 2005, after rising through the ranks at Goodison
Park and can also operate on the right wing.  Made his England
Under-20s debut in August 2005 and became a regular in the Blues' reserve
side.  But he found making the transition to
the Reserves more daunting, with only one goal from 15 starts. The following
season wasn't much better, which was a pity.
Despite making it into David Moyes's senior squad at the beginning of the
2005-06 season, Hopkins never got a sniff, as he was overshadowed
increasingly by Victor Anichebe and was released by
Everton in April 2006 without ever playing above Reserves level. |
